Cannacoastal Sample Review

Cannacoastal contacted me offering to send a few samples for a review as they're a newer MOM. I accepted and they sent the samples quickly, shipping was quick as well. Packaging was fine, airtight bag made certain that no smells escaped. Sorry in advance, I don't have a fancy camera for super nice photos, but I hope they're okay regardless! Nugs are dense and frosty, with some really nice pops of purple in there. The taste is sweet and so smooth. Delicious and fruity. The high is immediately happy, relaxed, and serene. It's almost a nostalgic high in how uplifting and calming it was. Definitely sativa leaning, but with some nice pain relief as well. I can see this being a fantastic strain for getting work done during the day since it leaves you full of energy and uplifted. Absolutely delicious smelling. Nugs are big and dense but fluffy, with a beautiful amount of deep purples underneath a heavy frosting. The taste is sweet and strong, with an earthy aftertaste. Very tasty. High was immediately warm and euphoric. Has the full body 'hug' you want from an indica, but without the heaviness. And has a nice head buzz that you'd want from a sativa. Very potent and powerful strain, I only ended up smoking 1/4th of what I ground up to try. I wish my camera did justice to how deep the purples are in this strain, especially when it's ground up(https://i.imgur.com/9CG9p6e.jpg). It's no secret that between the two samples, this was my favorite and actually ranks in my top ten for favorite strains I've ever tried. I'll definitely be ordering more. Sorry if my formatting isn't the best! Full disclosure: samples were free in exchange for a review here and on the CanadianMOM subreddit. Despite this, all info provided is my legitimate opinion and thoughts. If it sucked, I'd say so. But I was thoroughly impressed with Cannacoastal's strains and plan to place an order with them in the future.

MOM Name: CannaCoastal.ca Overall rating out of 10: 6/10 Sign Up: Samples were offered through PM Ordering & Pricing: N/A on ordering, pricing seems fairly standard Communication: Excellent communications, fast and courteous Packaging: Packaging was good, a small box inside which there was a vac bag, in which there were mylar bags containing the weed. Products / Photos: --- https://i.imgur.com/ZJM92C4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/h04kd8q.jpg Strain Name: White Fire OG Strain Fidelity: A cross of Fire OG and The White (aka triangle kush), neither of those I ever had. Size of buds: 7/10 One decent bud with a bunch of smalls Bag Appeal: 7.5/10 Pretty generic looking, trim is good, not overly caked, browish hairs, nothing special lookwise. The smell however redeems some of it, nice funky/skunky smell, not super strong but it was the strongest of these samples by a significant margin. Cure & Humidity: 8/10 Could have been a tiny bit more humid, but it's got decent humidity. Smell Intensity: 8/10 Good nose, smells really nice, got me excited when I opened the bag. Once ground it didn't become much stronger, I feel a lot of the smell was in the bag and left when I opened it. Harshness vs Smoothness: 9/10 No complaints here, very smooth smoke up to the filter. Burn 10/10 Perfect white ash, burns well without having to relight Taste Intensity: 8/10 The terps get through, there ain't much smoke to cover it up, but it could have been stronger in terms of terps. Taste Complexity: 8.5/10 Similar to it's nose, a bit of funk, a bit of skunk (very faint), reminds me of a tame White Widow Buzz Intensity: 8.5/10 A good hybrid buzz, not overly strong Price: 260/OZ Value: While there ain't much to fault here, it's definitely not craft level cannabis and doesn't really have any outstanding features. Kind of stuff I'd expect to see priced at 180ish. 'A' Scale Rating: AAA+, would be AAAA- if a bit fresher --- https://i.imgur.com/pPQMs6V.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qXm8QrQ.jpg Strain Name: Blue Dream Strain Fidelity: Believe it or not, despite it being one of the most popular strains in North America right now, I only ever had it once and it was absolute bunk so I can't really compare. There is a slight blueberry nose to it, so there's that Size of buds: One big bud with a couple smaller ones Bag Appeal: 7/10 A bit rough, the bigger bud looked like someone had picked part of it off (was more like 2 buds on a stem), pretty plain looking stuff, good trim though. Cure & Humidity: 6/10 This stuff was pretty dry Smell Intensity: 5/10 Again, the dryness robs most of this score. There are discenable blueberry notes, but there was also some of that floral/old dry weed smell mixed in there. Past it's prime. Harshness vs Smoothness: 6.5/10 Didn't have much fun smoking this. The blueberry I got in the smell didn't translate at all in the taste, wasn't a bad smoke (it wasn't harsh) but definitely nothing special. Burn 5/10 Burnt pretty black, had to relight it several times Taste Intensity: 3/10 Pretty much none of the nose came through, very generic old weed bag end taste Taste Complexity: N/A Can't even put a score on this Buzz Intensity: 6/10 Decent hybrid buzz, didn't last long Price: 220/OZ Value: This belongs to the 100$/OZ category IMHO, way overrated at 220 'A' Scale Rating: AA --- https://i.imgur.com/KMZDsRO.jpg https://i.imgur.com/FRV4tn1.jpg Strain Name: Nebula Strain Fidelity: 10/10 Only had it once before and I remember it's distinctive smell. It's a mix of cherry/berries. Size of buds: 9/10 One big bud (3g) and a small one Bag Appeal: 7/10 This sample got crushed/rubbed/whatever, it was round as a ball. Trim is good, looks fairly generic overall though not much standing out. Cure & Humidity: 0/10 Dry as fuck, I rarely got weed so dry from a MOM, after grinding it I literally dumped a pile of dust on my table. Smell Intensity: 6/10 The dryness robs it of most of it's nose, but there's still some smell there. Harshness vs Smoothness: 6/10 Despite it's dryness it was fairly smooth at first, but it got progressively more and more harsh as I went on. I didn't finish the joint, it was a chore past half. Burn 9/10 Burned well and white ash Taste Intensity: 6/10 Despite it's dryness, I could make out the terps well at first. Very similar to the nose, a nice smooth cherry/berry taste. It got harsh fast though. Taste Complexity: 7/10 The cherry/berry taste is pretty much all that comes through. Pleasant enough but fairly unidimensional. Buzz Intensity: 5/10 Stuff this dry rarely does wonders in the buzz department. Felt like a hybrid leaning towards indica, but it didn't last long and wasn't very strong. Price: 240/OZ Value: The dryness makes this a non-buy for me, even at 100$ there are better options out there. 'A' Scale Rating: AA- Notes: This is a perfect example of a bud ruined by dryness. I'm fairly sure this had quad potential at some point in it's life, but it was either not dried well, not cured well, or simply sat too long before getting sold, a waste of potential. Incentive for Customers: N/A Incentive for Review: Was offered free samples for review, as usual, my review is unbiased and ignores the price paid. Notes: A good example of what I often refer to as 'MOM quads'.... All the MOMs advertise quads, but most MOMs don't have them.

The 3 samples pack I had was in small Mylar bags and the nugs weren't in perfect shape. For that alone, I give it an A+. The indica definitely dominates here; it gives you a high you can feel in your face and in your core. Canna Coastal Review - October 2019

**MoM/RetailerName** Canna Coastal **Shipping/Packaging** Shipped out of BC and made here to Ontario in the common 3 days. Packaged in a box, keeping everything untouched. A tight and dense structure on these very resinous and frosty buds. Some purple hues throughout and virtually no leaf and quite sticky to the touch. Great overall bag appeal. The smell and taste were also different as this one had more of a sweet and gassy profile without many of the purple punch traits. The taste is very similar with added undertones of earth. Not harsh but definitely a heavy and thick smoke that can choke one up with a big toke. Burns with a grease ring and light coloured ash in a joint. The high pretty much plays out as a hybrid at first but then intensifies with obvious indica leaning effects. Both relaxing and sedating. Heavy eyes and all, with a slow, lazy thought process. Not really a daytime smoke imo but perfect for later on in the evening as it's quite potent. **Blue Dream** https://i.imgur.com/H80gD3u.jpg Been a while since I had some Blue Dream and it's always been a strain I enjoyed, despite how popular it is or the numerous times I've had it. This nug was just over 3 grams in weight and has quite a dense, tight structure, with a decent coating of trichs and precise trim. Not super sticky but not dry either. The nose is classic blue dream, with notes of sweet berry and a spicy/herbal finish. It definitely comes out more upon grinding it and the berry notes become more noticeably pronounced. When smoked, there is still a subtle berry taste met with flavours of pine and spice. Smokes smooth for a haze related strain that can sometimes be little harsh on the throat, with a salt and pepper ash. The high is exactly what you would except from Blue Dream and the description is accurate. Very euphoric and hazy, with a relaxing and calming high. Definitely a mood elevating strain, with it's uplifting demeanour, and a moderate potency that's good for anytime of the day. **Violator Kush** https://i.imgur.com/6ZfKNt2.jpg One of the strains I'm probably most familiar with by far, as it's one my top indicas. Very vibrant looking green buds, with plenty of bright orange hairs and decent trichome coverage as well. A minimal amount of leaf that is equally as dusted. Moderately sticky when breaking it apart. This violator profile is more on the earthy and peppery side rather than creamy, giving it a sharp and spicy nose. That's only before breaking it apart, as cracking open a nug brings out more traditional violator aromas from it's Hindu lineage that translates directly to taste. Classic couch locking effects that get stronger with time and especially if you are already tired. Relaxing and calming as well as uplifting, setting it apart from indicas that lead to feeling sleepy right away. This high is more like a slow burn that eventually tucks you right in. **Incentive** These samples were offered for some honest reviews. **Final Notes** Canna Coastal is a new MoM that is based on out of BC. They approached me on reddit and wanted to send some samples in turn for a few honest reviews. Didn't have to use the site so I can't speak on the ordering experience but the flower seems to definitely be on the quality side from the 3 strains I tried. Prices seem to range from medium to high with some decent variety, with concentrates and edibles as well.

One of the strains I'm probably most familiar with by far, as it's one my top indicas. Very vibrant looking green buds, with plenty of bright orange hairs and decent trichome coverage as well. A minimal amount of leaf that is equally as dusted. Moderately sticky when breaking it apart. This violator profile is more on the earthy and peppery side rather than creamy, giving it a sharp and spicy nose. That's only before breaking it apart, as cracking open a nug brings out more traditional violator aromas from it's Hindu lineage that translates directly to taste. Classic couch locking effects that get stronger with time and especially if you are already tired. Relaxing and calming as well as uplifting, setting it apart from indicas that lead to feeling sleepy right away. This high is more like a slow burn that eventually tucks you right in.
