Been on the search for some good gas, pinks, and heavy indicas as of recently. I've had Gorilla Jane on my radar for quite some time, and with their recent drops I decided to give em a try.
The bag appeal was pretty good. I was greeted by fresh,... dense, medium sized buds, though not too compact, retaining its shape after compression. Buds appeared to be hand trimmed, very sticky and resinous with a solid cure, easily gumming my fingers and grinder. The combination of greens, purple, and orange, topped off by a fair amount of milky crystal trichomes were aesthetically pleasing.
The terps are indeed loud with strong, dank, skunky fuel and pine aromas followed by hints of floral, lemon citrus, and earthy notes. When breaking buds apart or compressing the smell of gas and pine intensifies. Flavour transitioned nicely, not mild but rather pronounced as I was able to distinguish individual notes. Was also a bit peppery on inhale, but ended smoothly with some floral and earthiness.
Smoke quality gets a respectable pass. It burned greasy intermittently, never went out, and combusted slowly. It was preferably smooth for a pungent smoke, and never once had me coughing. Ash was light grey, but at times did burn a little hot.
Certainly a heavy hitter, this is one to save for end of day when there's nothing left to do. I felt instantly happy being in great spirits, a bit giggly at times, all during a floaty heady haze. Not long after physical effects became dominant, transcending into heavy couch lock and relaxation, as my entire body felt soothed and pain free, ultimately leading to a great night's sleep.
It was a good first experience, happy I had made the decision to give these guys a try. They seem to have some decent gas and so far I've had no issues with this drop, except for the rare occurrences when the ash burned hot. Overall, it gets my recommendation especially if buying an oz or more, as the value greatly increases at that point.
Medellin doesn't seem to be anything special when comes to appearance having mostly an olive shade of green. There are few bits of purple on leaves, pistols carry a rusty orange colour, and buds are coated by a layer of white crystal trichomes. The cur...e is perfect they're very sticky, easily gumming up fingers. Very nice cripsy feel and snap on the outside and has the right amount of moisture when grounded.
The terps are definitely one of the highlights. Rich, sharp, and pungent aromas of chemical gas along notes of lemon citrus & pine. There were also hints of sourness and dough. The flavour is more pungent than rich with a strong spicy and gassy draw, followed by a trail of pine, and sour dough at the backend. The doughiness seemed to linger throughout even on exhale. It's indeed a strong smoke and gives that tickle to the throat, especially when hitting the bong.
The burn quality was good overall, not harsh, and tasted clean despite not having a preferred light colour ash as it turned out to be salt and pepper. Decent burning properties and a little greasy at times.
Medellin slaps pretty darn good. The effects felt more balanced to me and it's one that's perfect for anytime except for bedtime, as it'll keep you awake with its very stimulating cerebral effects. A strain for creativity and productivity, not sedating in the slightest way, though the physical effects are notable, but on a lighter scale. There was a light to moderate amount of body relaxation as my mind was full of energy.
I'm glad that I was able to try this, it's a solid hybrid that checks most boxes. It gets my recommendation except if looking for a white colour ash. Picked up a quarter for $50 after points and coupons, and at that price, it's good value for what it is.
I'm really digging these cactus strains! I thought Spiked Truffles was pretty good, but this is even better in most ways.
There's not much going on in terms of pretty colours, having just a base medium green tone, tiny amber-orange pist...ols, and white crystal trichomes. Buds are uniquely cone shaped and have some foxtailing occuring. Good cure and firm density, they do tend to bust out nicely when grounded.
Terps are predominantly on Runtz side, having sweet, creamy, candy, and funky notes, while the flavour strength is rich and moderate as I was able to taste each note distinctively. It was tasty, pungent, yet smooth, with sweet sour grapefruit notes along some skunkiness on inhale, ending on an earthy exhale. Definitely a stronger taste and flavour transition than Spiked Truffles.
No issues with overall smoke quality. A slow and even burn, joints stayed lit, had easily produced a resin ring, and the ash was light grey.
The potency and effects are strong, more so than Spiked Truffles. I was absolutely care free with a foggy hazey mind, while limbs and body felt profoundly relieved as I was in a couch locked state. There was some sleepiness kicking in after some time leading to a great night's rest.
Cactus Genetics seems like a competent grower. Spiked Truffles and Cautus Licker were wonderful to say the least. It was a good experience so far, and I look foward to his other drops.
My first experience with NorthernCanna and was undeniably a splendid one. Based on past positive feedback I was excited to try one of their recent drops - Platinum Punch Remix, created by a lineage that was enticing to me.
Bag app...eal was pretty good on this one. Bright light green tones with hues of medium green and purple, orange pistols, all dusted by a layer of white crystal trichomes. Very sticky herb along an optimal cure, buds are really dense and nicely trimmed.
Terpene profile leans heavily on Platinum Kush Mints side as I was barely able to detect any fruity berry notes. Main terps are sweet, nutty, doughy, and cookie-like, with undertones of mint, pine, and gas. Very aromatic yet not too pungent in smell, while the flavour transition was moderate and not too heavy. It tasted wonderful and the mintiness was present throughout, together with creamy notes on the exhale.
Burn quality is excellent. Joints instantly produced an oil ring upon ignition and continued to do so until the end. Strong tokes but smooth emitting thick clouds on exhale, and ash was firm silky white. Absolutely no issues with burn quality.
Potency is on the stronger side definitely higher than average. Another one that'll put you out if consuming large amounts. I felt deliriously happy and so uplifted every time i hit a bong. Effects last a while and left me with a floaty, spacey, head buzz all accompanied by deep, soothing, and relaxing body effects. True couch lock with some functionality left within, I was still able to enjoy light hobbies, but as time went on found myself starting to slowly drift away in sedation.
In the end, it was truly an amazing experience, and totally worth the purchase. That being said, I'll be looking foward to more from NorthernCanna, and if you were thinking about giving them a try, I certainly recommend without a doubt.
With a parental lineage of Zkittlez x Runtz, known for its sweet, fruity, and candy-like profile, I was eager to try Project Z. Unfortunately for me the pack I received was seeded as there were tiny premature seeds throughout and within the buds.
If ...you look at all pics carefully you can visibly see them on the outer surfaces. There were many on the insides as well. Most buds if not all had this issue. I had to carefully go through each one as they were picked apart to ensure no seeds were being grounded nor smoked.
The 7th pic shows a gathering of the total seeds that were found while taking apart 2.1 grams of bud. It's possible that something had gone wrong within the environmental conditions, light poisening or pollen is my guess, but can't say for certain if either is the cause.
Aside from the premature seeds everything else seems to be fine. The cure and moisture content is good, structure is dense yet springy, and buds are somewhat sticky. Terps are bright and present, flavour translates decently, and I was still able to catch a buzz. Potency was average but could have potentially been affected.
It's a bit disappointing to see especially when you're buying premium buds. Maybe it's just a few that were compromised and not the entire batch, but this is what's unknown, so I just wanted to get word out for anyone thinking about it.
I have since reached out to WeedPosters and they have already responded and provided a resolution which I have agreed on. Would like to commend them for taking time to get in touch, providing a solution, and standing behind their products.
FFC has always been a past favourite of mine and it's one that I seek from time to time. I've only ever had the FPOG x Wedding Cake version prior to this, which has more of a sweet fruity berry note, while this particular cut has more o...f a sweet fruity citrus note.
Nugs are all on the larger side, some beautiful colas displaying shades of army and light green, while the amber-orange pistols, and white crystal trichomes blend into a nice contrast. Dense and caked with resin, these buds are perfectly cured, very sticky to the touch, and will leave your fingers gummed up.
Terps carry a sweet fruity citrus note followed by cream. It's not tart at all, but does taste like a creamy mandarin with a lively gassy cake background, and leaves hints of wood and pine on the aftertaste. Nose and flavour are truly decadent and sync together seamlessly for a mouth watering experience on each toke.
Apart from the bright distinctive terps, the burn quality is very good. Slow burning, white ash with very minimal peppering, and an instant oil ring until the end. It's very smooth as I was not able to detect any harshness.
Potency is where it gets a bit interesting as THC affects everyone differently. It is indeed on the potent side giving me a very euphoric heady buzz filled with focus that didn't fade away in no hurry. This was all accompanied by a warming, soothing body buzz inducing moderate couch lock. I never felt sedated, yet totally relaxed with mental focus. Perfect evening strain and one for socializing with friends.
Taking everything into account, this is hands down one of the best tasting FFC I've come across. I would love to try Terpy Vibes and GasGodz cut one day, but for now I'm truly satisfied. At $90 a half oz after points redemption, it's a great buy for good quality weed.
Rating: 9.0/10
EDIT: There was a listing error on WeedPosters description. This is FFC - FPOG x Wedding Cake.
This particular cut of 91 Octane is a cross of Biscotti and Scotty Too Hotty. Being a fan of candy dessert like terps I was intrigued to get my hands on some.
Bag appeal is fascinating and gorgeous to say the least, some of the nicest look...ing buds I've seen in recent times. Darker green tone with stunning pink and purple hues throughout, bold fiery golden orange pistols, blanketed by milky crystal trichomes. The few sugar leaves left on compliments the lovely appearance. It is sticky, dense, very well cured giving a perfect feel with a tad crispy snap when breaking apart.
Terps are delectable in both smell and flavour. It is what I had hoped for and everything comes through nicely. The smell is sugary, creamy, candy, earthy, and has faint notes of funk. When compressing buds they further emit diesel and pine aromas. The translation to taste is pronounced and wonderful, tastes exactly like smell but I was also able to detect some nuttiness on inhale, while it had a minty, gassy exhale. Smooth all the way through even in a bong.
Potency wise, I am happy to report that this strain from PBB kicks butt! It is definitely towards the stronger end, and if you smoke lots of it, it'll put you out not very long after. I felt it quickly building up in the eyes, going in and out of focus at times, a calm state of mind falling into deeper relaxation as time went by. Moderate couch lock ultimately leading to sedation coming down at the end. It's a very serene and tranquil feeling stimulating a deep full bodied effect.
The smoke quality was smooth, slow burning, and even throughout with an oil ring present from start to end, staying lit without issue. However, the ash was salt n pepper, I would say a bit more peppery towards darker side. In spite of that, the overall smoking experience was still enjoyable and a pleasure.
This strain would appeal to fans of runtz, gelato, and rainbow chip to name a few. Those that value a white ash burn should look elsewhere. Picked up a quarter which turned out to be just under $50 with points redemption applied. For what I paid, it was worth it im my opinion.
First time trying Poncho smalls and I'm pleased with the quality so far. The bag did contain about 0.2 grams of shake, but with a tad extra included it wasn't underweight after all. Nugs are olive green with lighter shades throughout, accompanied by brow...nish orange pistols, and crystal trichomes. Dense and rather sticky leaving a thin layer of resin on fingers from breaking them apart. The cure is optimal with a good feel, and breaks out pretty nicely when grounded.
The nose is of tropical fruit and spice, sort of like a mix of mango and papaya but also had faint sour earthy undertones. Dry toke gave a sweet, herbal, and citrus taste that transitioned really well when smoking. Right off the bat I noticed how super smooth the burn was. It's sweet with tropical citrus notes on inhale, hints of spice, finishing with a smooth herbal exhale.
Burned nicely and had no issues staying lit. The ash was salt n pepper with some hot spots coming to the end. About a quarter way down it starting producing an oil ring which was present from then onwards.
Potency is solid for smalls. I felt more relaxed mentally and physically, a lighter head buzz that was spacey and euphoric, while body effects were moderate without any sedation following.
In conclusion, it was a good experience with Poncho smalls. The quality is great and it's very good value at $60 per 1/2 oz before discount. I would easily recommend for anyone on a budget who doesn't want a compromise in quality, and especially to those who are fans of fruity citrus type of strains.
This was a sample that was received with my Black Friday order. Very nice looking buds they appear almost white under certain light conditions, due to the generous amount of milky white trichomes. Beautiful colouration with some purple and dark brown hues. ...
Buds are not too dense and have more of a spongy/springy feel. Smells like sweet cream and earth, with very subtle woodiness and pine. On inhale it's sweet, bit spicy, earthy, and gassy, ending with a smooth creamy nutty exhale.
Good flavour and burn quality though ash was salt and pepper. For me this indica hybrid felt like a 70/30 with a potency that's higher than average, and effects are clean and long lasting. Had deeply relaxed my muscles along with a head buzz that was clear energetic.
Although the experience was nice with strong lasting effects and good flavour, the ash quality could be better. That being said, can still see this becoming one of my future favourites, therefore will definitely be looking forward to upcoming Cactus drops.
Wedding Cake has always been one of my all time favourites, so the Jbeezy cut (Triangle Kush x Animal Mints) had sparked some interest. This batch bag appeal is nothing too crazy. Buds are mostly smaller and uniformed in size. Lighter lime green and orange colours, purple leaves, crystal trichomes. ...Composition was pretty much dense, and cure was acceptable, however I did find the outsides of the buds a tad bit dry, but breaking them apart revealed much better results. They were by no means crumbley nor dusty.
I would say that dispite the above mentioned, everything else is a solid hit. The terps, flavour, burn quality, and effects are all there. Sweet, cakey, doughy, and vanilla terps that we all know, which translate really well to taste while also having a slight gassy undertone.
Burn quality is clean and smooth, light grey ash with very minor peppering here and there. Not too greasy but still managed to form minor oil ring instantly. Effects are definitely indica leaning, not knock out but can be sedative with larger doses. Ideal for evenings/nights where not much is going to be done, except for light activities and hobbies, hence a nice one for winding down.
Overall, I would say it's a decent batch and good quality with lasting effects, but the bag appeal and slight dryness left more to be desired. Did pick this up as part of a Black Friday sale which ended up being around $90 per 1/2 oz shipped after discount and points.
