[Kootenay Craft Co] Skunk #1 Hybrid Indica Review | 4.5/5

/u/mcmaxx123

Video Unboxing [https://youtu.be/5DyQJTUjBqA](https://youtu.be/5DyQJTUjBqA) **\[Kootenay Craft Co\] Skunk #1 Indica Review | 4.5/5 |** [Microscope Photos](https://www.safebud.wiki/review/227/skunk-1-hybrid-indica-this-being-the-last-of-our-skunks-we-compared-we-figured-to-leave-the-fanciest) This being the last of our skunks we compared we figured to leave the fanciest for last. Priced at more than 200$ an ounce this 25% THC bud was a definite treat. The smell was much different than other Skunks we checked out: this was floral, sweet, incense, 'spring', uplifting.. much more pretty smelling than the others. The buds were light-colored, shiny, fluffy yet moist, nice long red hairs, green stems, fresh. Their shape resembled more 'classic' bud shape (long, thinner) rather than fat dense nugs that we sometimes see. Cracking it open also showed it was nice and dense down to the stem but easy to break up (fluffy) with no bits breaking off when doing so. It was nice to see the crystals being consistent all the way to the core. The red hairs, and quite a few were long and wrapped on the bud showing care was taken when it was grown. VERY well manicured, no fan leaves unless they were covered in crystals. Grinding it yielded a much more typical 'skunk' smell : foul-smelling, putrid, strong and with a hint of sweetness. It maintained the darker color which was to expected since we saw the color was maintained all the way to the stem. The bud was sticky both to itself and to my fingers. In the vape yielded a PRETTY skunky flavor (what I call hot and sour soup) but also yielded a sweeter, perfumey taste. This was a bit unexpected compared to other skunks strains we tried (that just had the stinky pungent smell, no sweet/florals). It's only worth pointing out if youre on a skunk hunt for pure-tasting skunks but otherwise had a very unique and distinct flavor, probably more unique than many others we've seen. Having smoked it from the pipe we got a light-grey to dark-grey hash. It was a BIT harsh but got nice thick smoke, light on the lungs with a very enjoyable taste (which in itself is rare, usually tastes good only vaping). I think the 24% is pretty close to the strength and may attribute to the slight harshness. The effects were a very indica feel in terms of being lazy but heart still racing but not very social. A good late evening buzz but nothing to smoke when waking up or before bed. So overall if you're looking for strong strong skunk, this kindaaaaa hits the spot. But if you're looking for good bud overall (good bag appeal, good taste, good buzz) then it's a safe bet. Tho not the skunkiest a pleasure to smoke (and show off to friends).

Tom Ford Pink Kush - Kootenay Craft- March 2019

/u/honestmomreviews

Sorry at work, it’s not bad at all. Came super dry, potency is not too bad, and has a faint Kush smell. Was expecting sticky, dank buds. This batch is not it unfortunately. Threw one of my 64g boveda in the jar to see if it improves at all. Still need to give this one a fair review though only smoked a little last night.

Living Soil gods bubba - KC -early March

/u/bcbudreport

Dense, sparkling, sticky, perfectly trimmed buds, with a heavy berry nose (smells identical to some black diamond I have from October.) my first offering from living soil growers from KC and it is impressive. Tried in the vape mostly and this one has a great flavour with a heavy behind the eyes type stone for me. Really loving the stone of this gods bubba. Advertised as 75/25 indica to sativa. I agree with KC and this is a quad for sure.

Hi all, I'm not going to post a review, but wanted to put this out there to the community as I've been thinking about this for a while now and have been torn over whether to post this as I know I'm new and don't really have any credibility at all. As I'm sure some of you have seen, I received an order from Kootenay a couple of weeks ago and I was pretty stoked given their platinum selection of great strains and potency. I was really excited about their PG-13 strain as G-13 was one of the first quad flowers I ever tried back in Michigan in the 90's and the first time I have seen this strain since. Outside of some issues signing up, getting access was straight forward and I was approved pretty quickly all things considered. I'd read a bunch of reviews which were mostly really good, so being able to select some strains that the community were talking about, along with selecting some strains which I personally thought were going to be a very enjoyable experience, was definitely exciting. From order to door was about 2 days which was great and I received all 6 strains no problem. This is where things start is get murky for me and the reason why I wanted to post. For all the hype and marketing about these flowers being platinum and really great, I've been left feeling very un-impressed with the flowers. The flower themselves look absolutely amazing, some of the best bud I have ever seen, with lots of crystals, big buds but lacking a bit in the smell department. Then I tried smoking them. I've been smoking bud for well over 20yrs and I'm a bong guy. Upon breaking up the buds, I found it a bit odd that such great looking flower with tons of crystals was not really sticky at all and again, the nose was not very strong. Taking rips from the bong and the taste was decent, but nothing to write home about. I was expecting some heavy hitters and was excited to experience the effects of these supposedly platinum flowers. Lets just say that I've been trying, to little or no effect, to get the heavy effects from these strains and I'm just not getting it. That's why I've been holding out on posting as I thought maybe it's me, I'll give these another shot to see if maybe it's just me or the particular day I'm smoking (I'm a daily smoker). Some of the strains will tease with some effects after smoking, but by the 30min mark, it feels like I haven't smoked anything. This includes the Cactus Breath strain which folks have been going crazy over and folks have written reviews on here saying the same. Is anyone else having a similar experience to me? to say that I'm underwhelmed is an understatement - probably the biggest disappointment I've had to date when ordering from MOM's. I'll continue to try these with an open mind, but I'm just not getting the effects. Next question I'm sure from folks is to contact the MOM. I'm a bit hesitant as I did approach him early on after the order about one of the jars as it had 1.3g of leaf in the 7g jar (by far the worst I've seen since ordering with MOM's) - I was really nice about the email and didn't ask for anything and I basically got a response saying, thanks, I'll let the grower know (no apologies, nothing). So I wasn't expecting to get anything in the customer service department if I sent an email back saying the potency of his platinum strains are questionable as he would probably think I'm looking for something for free. I just want heavy hitting buds (I even emailed them before putting in the order asking for their heavy hitters and they confirmed that what I wanted to order was indeed heavy hitting, I even ended up ordering a strain they recommended). So, while I really want to like this MOM given their selection of great strains, my actual experience with those strains has been terrible 9I wonder who the grower(s) are?). I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience or whether my tolerance has decided to only increase when trying buds from Kootenay craft. Hoping I'm not crazy and sorry for the novel. Just feeling really disappointed by this experience. Ypsi

Tangerine Cookies - Kootenay Craft - Late Feb

/u/SteaksAreReal

Full review: https://canadianmom.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3647 This is a winner! Strong nose and taste, reminds me of fermenting oranges, tasty to the last puff on a joint, very solid buzz for a sativa leaning hybrid. Awesome smoke, I've seen lots of others rave about it as well. True quad.
