Stash Box

My last review was a bit long-winded so I'll (try to) keep this short and sweet. I've been excited to try this strain for a while now and it mostly lived up to my expectations. I only grabbed a quarter of this because I wasn't sure if I'd dig the flavour. It came as one beautiful 3g nug and a mix of medium and small for the rest. No seeds have been found and I've smoked about 3/4 of my buy. The buds are sticky and caked, though not quite as much as the Gelato Punch I got at the same time. The flower smells sweet and fruity, with a doughy undertone. I don't know that I'd say it smells like nanners but it's pleasant. Busted up, the smell intensifies. As a smoke, it's very smooth and burns beautifully. In general I found the flavour to be fairly close to the smell: sweet, almost candy-like, with some fruitiness and a hint of mint. It didn't blow me away but I do still enjoy it. The high is probably my favourite part. I found this strain to be quite uplifting and it puts me in a great mood and headspace. This is an excellent morning smoke with moderate potency and no burnout. Overall, glad I tried this one and will definitely be on the lookout for more banana strains in the future. This wasn't quite as impressive as I'd hoped but that may have been a combo of unrealistic expectations and the high bar set by the Gelato Punch, which I am still super digging.

Divine Gelato from Headwater Greeted with a really weird and pungent wine gummy/candy smell, I get a little bit of milky/cream from it too. Mostly smaller sized buds, light green/purples and lots of orange hairs. Burns nice, smooth and mostly white ash. When this first came in I find it didn’t have much of a flavour but it seems to be alright now after a couple days. It’s a really complex flavour, I get a little bit of floral from it, and also kind of creamy berry. The after taste is my least favourite, it somehow just ends up going to like a really dirt,soil kind of taste that lingers in your mouth. Not my favourite tasting strain, but other than that I can’t complain. it’s a pretty nice hybrid/indica high, potency doesn’t lack. Quality: 7.5/10 value 7.5/10

I just smoked another one now and it seems majority of the nugs are sweet/floral/soap like, not so much death/earth. The first nugs I smoked were a really weird 1.5ish grams I picked out.

NC’s Dirty Banana from last year was absolutely one of my favourite smokes of all time, specifically top 3 daytime smokes for me, so when I saw Stashbox was getting this in, I got some major weed fomo as I was out of country. Thankfully the folks at SB put a little bit of each pheno aside for me which was a lovely homecoming gift to say the least haha. I’d recently read a review saying that this stuff was full of seeds and a terrible smoke, so I definitely got a bit nervous. I also feel like I’d hyped this strain up so much in my mind over the last year that no matter what I would be disappointed. I am happy to admit that I am absolutely pleased with this stuff. I’m not trying to discount the other reviewers experience, but this stuff really reminds me very much of last years batch. Same gummy, sticky to the touch buds that are just coated in trichomes. Same creamy banana nose, though I think this one has a more (subtly) cheesy undertone than the outright sweet candy blast that i remember from the one last year, but it’s really tough to say on memory alone. Taste is also maybe a bit more subtle than I remember, but that kushy banana flavour is for sure there. The high is also exactly as I remember, and the reason I loved DB11 so much in the first place. It gets me exactly where I need to be, that absolutely contented kind of high but very peripheral, allowing me to get on with my day and feel stoned as hell without feeling like I SEEM stoned as hell. Good stuff for my outdoor job, just really functional but satisfying. I can’t say I notice a huge difference between phenos except that the 8 seems a bit more gassy maybe? but I’ve been smoking way more of the 11 and it’s not like I’m smoking them both back to back while taking notes haha. Overall I am extremely happy with this stuff. It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster going from incredibly excited to very nervous when I saw that last review lol. I’m not gonna deny the person’s experience at all, but I’ll just say mine has been way different. If I could say one bad thing about this drop is that it might not be QUITE as mindblowing a smoke as I remember, but sometimes memory is just like that, and as i mentioned it’s tough to meet expectations of something you have hyped for so long! Also worth noting (I prob shoulda mentioned this at the beginning) is that I have yet to find a single seed, though I’ve only smoked a few grams so far. I’ll definitely update if I do find any though as I’m really not trying to take sides one way or the other. Just want to be honest about my experience!

This is my first order with Stashbox and I am not disappointed. I was initially worried that this divine gelato would be half ass cause it was discounted and saw a review after I ordered it that the taste was funky. Arrived fast and fresh with great bag appeal. Nice sized proper buds no shake or popcorn. Buds smells to me like pungent sweet fermented fruity sour wine. Great taste in the vape. Smooth sweet tasting smoke so smooth that I didn't even cough once and forgot it was weed. What I love about this stuff is that it has this clean sweet candy like exhale and smoke that is different than the smell and it just slaps. The very smoke itself is fruity which is just awesome and some willy wonka type shit . Clean white ash. Gave me a very potent and pleasant stoney kinda daytime like buzz that had me a bit out of it but functional with little sedation. Thank you Stashbox for this deal and props to Headwater Cannabis for this high quality beauty. Will by again at this price fo sho. Taste/Smell - 8 Potency - 8.5 Value - 10 Quality - 9. 5

Was really curious about this one, how is it?

Dirty Banana #11 in house genetics by NorthernCanna Sorced from Stashbox So was super excited to see NC drop this strain again, been so long and it was my favourite strain. Now that was last year and mostly thru CWF. This Dirty Banana 11 is not the same...First thing you'll notice is how floral this strain has become, candy banana is gone, and whats left is this this almost sour floral taste, no big sugary creamy hits, very thin floral smoke that produces little to no buzz, its primary effects seem to getting a headache.... ANd there is some wood taste from all the tiny undeveloped seeds in the buds, I only kept the big ones to show in the picture, at least 1-2 seeds per bud really has tainted this batch.... And plus its nothing like what it used to be, which is even more dissappointing then the seeds. I gave a half oz away for free already(cause I dont feel comfortable charging people money for this bunk) but am still left with an oz and half of this unsmokable floral 'not sugary' garbage. Stashbox offered me a $60 refund for the seeds being present, I asked Stashbox what I could buy for 60$ to replace this 1.5oz of seeded floral headache weed, obviously the answer was nothing.... Debating on throwing the rest of it in the garbage tonight, as I think the dude I gave a half oz to doesnt want anymore either and thinks it sucks and they mix with tobacco.. Anyways wanted to put up this review, Id stay away from Northerncanna right now, and assume all batches are seeeded. Id also probably stay away from Stashbox right now, they are nice and all but Im still out $415 with the refund they gave, So I have to take a 415$ loss from ordering from Stashbox, lets just say I will not be rushing to make that mistake again. usually dont rate flower but this one is: -4 out of 10 I usually end with Thank You's, I will not be this time

Thoughts on this one? I grabbed some smalls and am really digging it.

Really pretty and colorful little buds. Smell is kind of like wine and licorice, not what I expected from a Gelato cross. Burn is white but to be honest it really doesn't taste all that great. Has that kind of moldy/dusty taste, I don't know. Hoping a few hours/days in a jar changes this. Kind of disappointing to be honest. The website says it's the same as the one they previously sold for $240 an oz but it seems pretty clear why this batch is cheaper (I paid $90 for 14g). Really hoping the taste improves to match the look and smell of the buds.

Modified Grapes by Gastown from Stashbox. Never had this strain before but have always wanted to try it. Super grape candy taste burns white with the ring. Puts me down pretty hard. Sticky cakes buds. Real nice. Highly recommended 9.5/10
