credo:
: in high school toking was for relief and feeling better
: stopping for a few decades it was missed
: coming back to it six years ago was bliss
: then legalization happened
: today more than ever toking is for relief and feeling better
tod...ay’s weeds from kootenay craft
https://kootenaycraft.com/
papaya
: ooey-gooey, ‘we shoulda bought a half of this’
: deep indica but not passing out yet, too good to miss by going to sleep
: surfin’ the alpha waves
: meaty fruit stench; might have been what the lotus eaters part of the odyssey was about
: things like this can make of people gibbering fools!
: must smoke again
living soil strawberry jerry
: hm, that smell; a deeper strawberry than non-living soil version, which was more candy ice cream, whereas this is more like old-style cotton candy in an open air fairground – poetic, perhaps, but not inaccurate; sweet strawberry earthiness
: solid power stone, builds big, focused, racy in a welcome and desired way, clear focus
: helps with anything along lines of mental activity, pushups, meditation, house-keeping
: effective for social interactions, calming and buzzy at same time
: still going strong after an hour, 2x 7g’s what an oldcoot needs!
: seems to be a buffer around it; we theorize it’s the cbd trace at work, giving it a comfort layer; intense but manageable
where’s my bike?
: bright and bouncy, arresting
: buds are fluffy, deep diesel stink, irresistible
: the diesel smell on this is delicious, tangy, and it’s already sold out; we wished the first second we smoked it that we’d gotten more, special like the website said
: fun, chatty, easy-going yet strong: disorientation like having just read a page of a book and forgot what it was, that kind of thing
: definitely good for those who crave throwing themselves at walls of arms in a noisy club or down a mountain on slats of wood
: insights meander beautifully until lost
bottom line
: full purchase with a 15% sale stacked with the 20% regular discount for buying four 7gs came out less than buying same quantity at local government outlet , which offers vastly flatter medicine, close to zero well-being and lots of tiredness
: strategy: save to buy more before running out, and try to smoke moderately, not always feasible; even so it is significantly more economical to stick to mail-delivery
quality opinion explained
: why “vastly” in describing the average quality of local government dispensary stuff? it is no exaggeration to say the healthful sense of well-being that comes from quality craft medical cannabis, such as provided by kootenay craft, for one, is precisely the feature of medical cannabis some users crave: well-being, relief without harmful or knock-out side effects, etc., but so far the government outlet, here anyway, seems to offer average to good weed, at best, for higher prices, with a ton of patronizing framing documents thrown in about what it is and how to use it, and bonkers excess packaging; this results in an overall experience which feels oppositional to well-being, at least for us
general notes on kootenay craft
: having tried around ten online dispensaries since legalization we tell friends we think kootenay craft is the most consistent at accurately delivering what is described on their site and what they recommend when consulted in email
: other things we like: website lists thc content along with cbd content and ratios; delivery is ‘next-day’ quick; quick and clear to communicate with customers individually and via email notices, which are never spurious or coaxing, but instead helpful and factual
: if they have a flaw it’s maybe the boasting about their own quality, but then again it’s positive asset boasting, as in citing of championship readiness and placements etc., and, unlike many sites which boast, is affixed in relevance to the weed, as in boasting about facts and opinions which stand to benefit a customer in terms of quality, and why not boast? the weed is usually unique and among the most interesting, if not among the strongest variants of whatever strain they are offering
: weed is the bottomest of the bottom lines here; we’ve enjoyed all of kc’s weed, some more than others, but all so far are unique, pleasant, strong, and always with that sense of well-being, ie., usually less dragginess or dopiness than a lot of others we’ve tried
conclusion
: for a fart like me, who craves legendary weed, stories of which were first heard whispered back when beards dripped brown rice and incense fumes, back when i fancied i could make it as a hippy; yes, those mythic weeds with the perfect shangrila – well, kootenay craft comes close and maybe, to be honest, sometimes goes beyond
life is better than paradise, have an easy ride
thanks

Kootenay Craft
https://kootenaycraft.com/
couple of weeks ago we decided to try kootenay’s buy-four-7gs-get-20%-off deal and sample some more strains. happy with purchase. we like kootenay craft weeds, find them clean-smoking and smooth overall, and strong in all the right ways. ...their smoke induces a genuine sense of well-being in many cases, and all the strains we’ve tried so far are pleasant and unique to smoke. we do have our favorites but overall the biggest challenge with any order we get in from kootenay craft is not smoking it up too fast.
here are some quick comments on individual strains with photos.
jorge’s diamonds
: glad we got some of this when we did as it sold out fast
: a must-buy when it comes out again
: smooth smoke and a deep smooth stone
: plenty of head-grip focus within a cushion of feel-good
: distinct, strong sense of well-being, body-numb
: had some food distress from overeating, pained belly, etc., decided maybe jorge’s diamonds might work and it did; nice physical relief, nice focus, glad it was on hand
: a sweet deep body stone
: unique and special
living soil purple princess
: dark crystal buds might as well have come from a henson movie or another planet for that matter; big, chunky, mysterious
: earthy smell, mellow sativa buzz wrapped in an indica body blanket
: kind of covers all the bases: ensconcing and energizing
: nice to smoke with a strong high and a workable focus
: sometimes the focus seems to taper off with this one, at least on occasion, but when it does it settles into lakeshore dreaminess and a nap is in order
strawberry jerry
: we wondered if the gang at kootenay craft gave us a bit extra of this but we had no scale on hand to be able to tell; regardless, we thank them for selling this great fun weed
: chunky buds with a super strawberry smell
: childhood memories of supermarket neapolitan ice cream
: energetic, lots of head effects, plenty of pulsating brain rhythms
: a level focus with bounce as good for a mosh pit as a writing sit
: comes with a body buzz so the sativa is not as aggressive in the chest as some but definitely a head-gripper
: potent, not too heavy
zombie og
: inexpensive and unique
: this is an example of kootenay craft emphasizing uniqueness
: big fluffy buds
: this one has a distinct mellowness which has unfortunately gotten a bit lost in the shitstorm of stoniness that’s been going on, and it usually gets smoked at end of evening
: we love it’s smoothness and it amply delivers a sweet body stone that has all kinds of ripples and highlights when it’s the only thing smoked; otherwise it serves as an above-average base paint for finishing the day’s impressionistic ride
we appreciate kootenay craft’s efforts to produce exotic cultivars which deliver a friendlier heavy stone. this feels like where weed is going, towards a healthier life accompaniment and lots of sunny stone rays and spacey days. praise be.

oldcoot is happy as a goat! a golden goat, that is...
Kootenay Craft
https://kootenaycraft.com/
: offers some of the best flowers i’ve smoked
: in general i find kootenay craft weed to be clean-smoking and a super clean high
: it might be the organic qu...ality of the craft grow, or it may be the living soil method they use for some of their most appealing buds, but i love the taste and effect of their weed
details ordering & pricing
: easy sign-up, $50-off first-time, free shipping over $140, bubble envelope, no odor, plastic containers with generic labels and a boveda inside
: they seem to have a constant special of 20% for 4 quarters, different quarters from any category, which i never really noticed but am thinking i will try soon!
: gst etc., is included in price on site, photos are impressive, they have great organic quality, and the free shipping price point is manageable
: getting to know them a bit better, they tossed in a bud last order, nice stuff, and they seem to have a lot of happy customers writing reviews on the site
banana kush
: only got a quarter as kush is usually what i smoke in lesser quantities, usually at night but, as always, the kushes i’ve been getting from kootenay make me love kushes
: nice taste, can sometimes really taste the banana; almost all of kootenay’s weeds have a great scent to them, many of them scrumptious
: effects are easy-going, mid-level strong for me, tingles over the head and upper body, ten minutes in relaxed and focused
: i especially noticed a cool rush all over top of head and face, a breeze feeling; i guess the tingles, but it felt unique
: settles into a nice body stone, very agreeable, and it paired well one night, bud-to-bud, with some cactus breath; deepened everything into quite a heavy under-the-ocean stone
living soil oregon golden goat
: got a half of this as i like to use weed specifically to write, meditate, play board games, study, and just about any other brainwork activity
: heavy sativa all around the head...and this goat kicks hard! lots of energy, some might find it aggressive, especially that urgency feeling in the chest, but with kootenay’s craft at work it seems the aggressive effects are mitigated, i guess partially due to the 1% cbd
: over the course of a few hours i notice this one keeps kicking in little jolts of what feels like a fresh hit, which is kind of unique; it’s as if i’ve taken a little hit and got a jolt, except it seems to come out of nowhere, or rather, out of the existing stone; this seems to happen 2-3 times over as many hours after taking a couple of bong rips, little waves of smaller-scale highs kicking in, which might be why it gets the goat name; don’t know, but it’s great
: a smooth smoke with an upper-strength long-lasting focus high, the more aggressive effects of which seem to be mitigated by a gentle layer of well-being; it’s almost a perfect fit for an old coot like me, but most of kootenay’s weeds feel that way
: if i compare this to two of kootenay’s other sativas, i might gave hazelnut cream the edge in terms of how relaxed i feel within the aggressive sativa stone, and the chocolate japan might be the better of the three, by a hair, in terms of higher-end focus
: truthfully, all three are badass strong sativas welcome in my house anytime!

Kootenay Craft
https://kootenaycraft.com/
: this place has some of the best flower tops i’ve smoked
details ordering & pricing
: easy sign-up, $50-off first-time (used mine to try cactus breath; it was amazeballs)
: free shipping over $140, bubble envel...ope, no odor, plastic containers with generic labels and a boveda inside
this purchase
https://kootenaycraft.com/product/living-soil-hazelnut-cream/
: wanted a strong sativa, rocket fuel, and living soil hazelnut cream does not disappoint
: hits the mark just right; not too strong, not too mild, a goldilocks; i’m happy as shit
: platinum #1 tier on the kootenay craft site
: delivers potent concentration and focus with a very smooth almost creamy buzz
initial
: sparkly green buds with streaks of reddish-brown, grown with obvious care, smells woody and fresh, smooth inhale, as other reviews have pointed out; fully smooth!
: hard to imagine it’s sativa, then it hits the head; there’s a cocoon effect of buzziness surrounding the intensity, and you can tell it’s a strong sativa, but it’s a bit more cozy and dreamy than that; soft, maybe? no, not quite. smooth. wow, i cleaned the fucking house!
next day
: it’s like i’m about to doze into no-zone on the couch, and then it’s like i cleaned the house
: focused, warm, fuzzy, buzzy
: excellent for math-based work, like in a dreamy bedazzling way
: great for meditation, wim hof, sitting qigong meditations, pushups
: synergetic, nice and strong
all week
: ongoing use is a dream; smooth high, strong focus
: combines well with other weeds, too, especially the remaining bits of other kootenay craft stuff i have, as in the ghost og and dharma diesel; weeds don’t always combine for me, but the hazelnut cream marries well with ghost og, causing psychoactive late-night blaze-dreaminess; combining with dharma diesel the sativa sides strengthen each other into a heavy-plank focus, with a nice body buzz with a sense of well-being throughout
conclusion
: living soil hazelnut cream is a sativa of gentle proportions yet high-strength focus
: one of the most unique and favorable sativa stones i’ve had
: love it

Kootenay Craft
https://kootenaycraft.com/
: this place has some of the best weeds i’ve tried since i started toking again
: i get a nice feeling off most of the strains i’ve smoked from Kootenay Craft
details ordering & pricing
: easy sign-up with a $...50-off first-time buyer bonus
: free shipping $140 and over
: shipped in a bubble sealed envelope
: weed comes in plastic containers with generic labels and a boveda inside
this purchase
: chose lighter strains this time around
: lighter on the thc, lighter on the pocketbook
: both came from kootenay’s second tier category “top shelf”
: happy with these weeds to point of affection
: ghost og is the dark horse winner for me
: a heavy stinky flower, dark green and earthy
: smells a bit like meat, a bit like how their cactus breath strain smells
: the stone is dense and spacey with a body buzz
: but it also delivers a strong sense of concentration and focus
: a new fave, it felt great, and was great for productivity
notes on ghost og
https://kootenaycraft.com/product/ghost-og/
: heavy head, reminiscent of sleepiness
: clarity-focused, as mentioned in onsite reviews
: heavy couch lock sensation but alert
: wow, what a weed
: fluffy deep green buds
: reminds me of cactus breath in smell
: like leather sandals or a satchel smell
: deep and earthy
: great heavy stone with clarity
first night
: finishing off a busy creative day with this stuff is intense
: i avoid dopiness in weed because it muddles up clear thinking at times
: this weed delivers dopiness without the downside
: there is a hint of angst, rushiness, but it’s bearable, even enhances
: relaxed and immersive, soothing, head-clenching, focused
: i probably would not sleep immediately on this
: but afterwards, the come down, i expect bliss
: indeed, napped after getting high earlier and it was perfect
few days in
: i have grown very fond of ghost og
: this one is special, strong indica with a strong clarity focus
: isn’t always as sleep-inducing as might be expected
: causes fluffy-headed disorientation, couch lock sensations
: but like other reviewers have noted an element of strong focus
: i enjoy working late when i’m tired and this one’s great for that
: induces lethargy with a heavy mental clarity side
: also good for creativity and creative-impulse
: a new favorite for me, perfect for night-time cerebrations
: also very enamored with the flowers; green, dark, fluffy, with a heavy stink
notes on dharma diesel
https://kootenaycraft.com/product/dharma-diesel/
: big dark green buds, sticky density
: as one reviewer noted you press them and you feel them squeeze with stickiness
: the rush is up in the face and head
: heavy on the head, tingles all over, heavy weed
: not as heavy as chocolate japan which is what i was smoking
: but heavy, giving me laser eyes, itchy eyes
: strong head grip, focus is there
: can already feel the focusing element
: smoke it with purpose in mind!
: feels really nice, relaxed
: definite head grip, all activated and lit up
: also has tingles all over the body, not all weeds do that
: very nice sense of well-being
: a bit rushy, speedy
: connectedness
couple hours in
: heavy and deep but focused
: as with other kootenay weed there is a softness layer
: the almost 1% cbd in this is what i’m guessing does that
: 20% indica offsets the accelerative sometimes anxiety-triggering effects of sativa
: beautiful balance of those two effects
: heavy on the temples like a band around the eyes
: but nice, so nice
: taste and smell is fantastic, fruity and diesely, drew me back for multiple tokes
: more than i need but it’s a pleasure to smoke
: easy-going heaviness, but still knock-out
meditation
: wow, no question this goes deep
: great for wim hof or qigong sitting stuff
: lots of light and golden energy
: fabulous and deep, no hallucination, simply incredible sensation
end day one
: good to great smoke, great for focus
: noticeable heaviness in the come-on
: a clear head-aura, cuts through highs from other weeds
: assertive, good for productive creative work
: micro-dosing throughout is good, euphoric, steady, reliable
: love the big green stinky buds
after a week or so (but what’s time anyway, right?)
: both dharma diesel and ghost og are great heavy weeds
: both good for concentration and focus
: both strong and a bit sleepy
: i lean toward the ghost og as a new favorite
: love the heaviness with built-in clarity
: dharma diesel is effective as a work and focus flower
: but sometimes runs out of energy and requires a nap
: afterwards though the power is still there, heavy and nice
: both are great for meditation and energy visualizations

: i avoid dopiness in weed because it muddles up clear thinking at times
: this weed delivers dopiness without the downside
: there is a hint of angst, rushiness, but it’s bearable, even enhances
: relaxed and immersive, soothing, head-clenching, focused
: i probably would not sleep immediately on this
: but afterwards, the come down, i expect bliss
: indeed, napped after getting high earlier and it was perfect
few days in
: i have grown very fond of ghost og
: this one is special, strong indica with a strong clarity focus
: isn’t always as sleep-inducing as might be expected
: causes fluffy-headed disorientation, couch lock sensations
: but like other reviewers have noted an element of strong focus
: i enjoy working late when i’m tired and this one’s great for that
: induces lethargy with a heavy mental clarity side
: also good for creativity and creative-impulse
: a new favorite for me, perfect for night-time cerebrations
: also very enamored with the flowers; green, dark, fluffy, with a heavy stink
notes on dharma diesel
https://kootenaycraft.com/product/dharma-diesel/
: big dark green buds, sticky density
: as one reviewer noted you press them and you feel them squeeze with stickiness
: the rush is up in the face and head
: heavy on the head, tingles all over, heavy weed
: not as heavy as chocolate japan which is what i was smoking
: but heavy, giving me laser eyes, itchy eyes
: strong head grip, focus is there
: can already feel the focusing element
: smoke it with purpose in mind!
: feels really nice, relaxed
: definite head grip, all activated and lit up
: also has tingles all over the body, not all weeds do that
: very nice sense of well-being
: a bit rushy, speedy
: connectedness
couple hours in
: heavy and deep but focused
: as with other kootenay weed there is a softness layer
: the almost 1% cbd in this is what i’m guessing does that
: 20% indica offsets the accelerative sometimes anxiety-triggering effects of sativa
: beautiful balance of those two effects
: heavy on the temples like a band around the eyes
: but nice, so nice
: taste and smell is fantastic, fruity and diesely, drew me back for multiple tokes
: more than i need but it’s a pleasure to smoke
: easy-going heaviness, but still knock-out
meditation
: wow, no question this goes deep
: great for wim hof or qigong sitting stuff
: lots of light and golden energy
: fabulous and deep, no hallucination, simply incredible sensation
end day one
: good to great smoke, great for focus
: noticeable heaviness in the come-on
: a clear head-aura, cuts through highs from other weeds
: assertive, good for productive creative work
: micro-dosing throughout is good, euphoric, steady, reliable
: love the big green stinky buds
after a week or so (but what’s time anyway, right?)
: both dharma diesel and ghost og are great heavy weeds
: both good for concentration and focus
: both strong and a bit sleepy
: i lean toward the ghost og as a new favorite
: love the heaviness with built-in clarity
: dharma diesel is effective as a work and focus flower
: but sometimes runs out of energy and requires a nap
: afterwards though the power is still there, heavy and nice
: both are great for meditation and energy visualizations

Living Soil Chocolate Japan
https://kootenaycraft.com/product/living-soil-chocolate-japan/
: rich fresh-smelling buds
: opened the jar, yum-yum
: green fresh-looking buds loaded with crystals
: the stone is strong, heavy
: at 90% sativa with 25% thc, it delivered; heavy head-lock, strong focus
: despite how heavy this is the creative focus is intact and pleasurable; graceful and complex perceptions in slo-mo spontaneously arise!
: compared to other 90% sativa weeds it’s hard to tell differences, but they are there: this one might be softer in some ways; the tingling is everywhere, but the chest jumpiness is muted by the heaviness blanket
: less of the teeth-grinding energy some sativas have, more a relaxed focus; couple of hours in and it’s growing on me
: been smoking some other stuff for a few days now, milder stuff, was looking forward to a heavy-hitter to hammer my head, and i have to say this does the job
: lots of persistent focus energy with a kind of sleep-walk sedative feeling; a curious swingy balance; bit racy, but focused, chatty, but mellow
: thing of beauty
second day
: lots of talk going on about how amazing the weed is
: keeps everyone focused and bopping along
: great daytime functioning weed with a heavy blanket of mellow
: easy to drift despite the buzz
: supremely good for meditation involving light energy and visualizations
: not psychedelic, but definitely a lot of depth
: one of the better ones of its kind
: smooth; smooth but heavy stone, smooth smoke, smooth smell and aroma
: did I mention fresh?
: love this weed
few days in:
: definite cerebral productivity bias to this high
: moments of discombobulation, but pleasant
: excellent for energy meditations in sitting-qigong style
: superior for internal detached perspective when allowing energy to flow etc.
: feeling of out-of-body within the body is precise and a great enhancement
: excellent strength for quick-hit followed by 45 minutes of technical think-work rhythm, all day, or until nap, then resume
: has a come down which prompts a nap, but the nap refreshes and the focus energy is there on waking
: long-lasting effects with a nice strong energy push at the start of the come on
: builds nicely over a day in a heavy way but not too overwhelming
summary:
: this weed strikes a balance for me between fresh and crafted but also quite hard-hitting in the sativa range
: high thc of 25% means it’s heavy, but the 1% cbd probably balances it somewhat
: the kind i’d like to always have on hand for mental effort work comfort

Cactus Breath
https://kootenaycraft.com/product/cactus-breath/
incentive to purchase
: this is legendary weed, which is part of my thing, coming late to the wild west of weed cultivation, and sometimes it’s nice to get something spectial. cactus breath is special.
general impression
: a couple of years before i started toking again some guy told me the weed in the kootenays was the best. for a long time all i had were my memories of reading high times and smoking sinsemilla in the 80s before i withdrew from the scene. so i come looking for these fancy-schmancy “legendary strains” with some pretty big expectations. and i was pretty excited to try cactus breath after reading about it. here are some of the things which happened when i toked it.
first responder response
: wow, maybe don’t want to do too much of that at once. smooth smoke, big rip, no cough. read about the flavor a lot and yes, it is very tasty, bit like lapsang suchong. lingers afterwards in the nasal passages, forehead taste, strong head-hold, powerful sting, that white-noise hiss. feeling it physically in the lobes, inside around the eyes, trippy as shit, serious, fun, but hey! balanced? soft? seems like it. still, maybe don’t do too much at once. then there’s that issue of maybe making it last because you know you want to smoke as much as you want! someone says, ‘it’s fucking surged up my face man, but i see why it’s cactus it’s like a prickly, ee! right in the face.’ yes, lots of tingles. what is that? is that nerve-endings? feeling it in the follicles. love that. micro-shivers. love it. wow, a whole dome of tingly energy in the follicles. noticeably unique. nice. if i had to smoke one weed only and live in a sci-fi paperback it might be cactus breath. great fucking name. i have a helmet of happy fire around my head. thank you weed.
now, let’s see where it goes...
meditation
: in a word, spectacular. 3-4 hours in and after a second visit to the bong, a nice little whm breath hold, 2.50 mins, the cranial corona produced by the weed vivid throughout, indeed it exploded. but it was a fully detached journey, lots of golden energy, until surfacing into a full-on ten minute relaxed infusion of energy breathing, very comfortable in detachment, (feels almost out of body but there is only embodied); wow, the relaxation into heightened focus is the best i’ve had with weed so far, can only imagine going deeper. and the tingliness of a breath-hold matches nicely with the cactus tingles. if you’re into the altered-states type meditations, cactus breath seems ideal; pranayama, baby! this herb, wow.
couple days later
: there is a definite sense of comfort and well-being associated with this weed now. take a small hit, go back to work for an hour or two; smooth, happy, well-being. it is very favorable to breath work, energy meditations, and probably great for doing outdoor activities. it’s a strong high with an agreeable level of support. words like ‘that’s the best weed ever man’ have floated around our millenial household because there’s no question a single toke delivers. greedy too. we share the other stuff, but not this. except we want to boast! every review i’ve read remarks on look and taste, and that is there for sure; it is a bit exotic, like a treasured pick of tea, and almost edible. capers, shallots, cremini mushrooms, basil, garlic, olive oil, and no doubt many more seem to be echoed in this weed’s odor and appearance, which in our case was nice medium buds. definitely caked in crystal, as stated in other positive reviews out there. no question this weed is not like most others, and it is better for it.
two weeks in
: apart from hoarding the last few nugs, this is go-to evening focus time; we write for hours, watch tv for hours, clean house, meditate, whatever. it’s kind of the perfect long-lasting and heavy stone for a head like me. a layered stone. and i would say more than most weed, a living stone. very interactive. if you believe in communing with the spirit of the bud, this would be a good doorway.
bonus review: watermelon
https://kootenaycraft.com/product/watermelon/
: never tried watermelon before. tight buds, lots of crystals, dusty with ‘em, and a rich fruity aroma. breaks up nice. two tiny hits in a glass pipe, go sit down with a jolt of a quad in brain from earlier, wondering what this will do. a minute in, faint, then the nice heavy creep into a strong head hold. definitely a nice overall body high, but with a clear path to focus on thoughts and brainwork. a nice heaviness, not too draggy. notable are the buds which look like little romanescos. they also smell heavily of watermelon, and the weed tastes like watermelon. this got everyone talking about how terpenes are the same in weed as in watermelon etc. strong watermelon smell and taste, coupled with effects, made for a pleasant mid-to-heavy-hitting indica with a bit of focus.
conclusion
: kootenay craft offers great tasty weed. their best is a bit pricy, but the first-time buy deal gives us a try. as for the future in this house we all discuss getting more cactus breath the next time it’s not sold out on the site. stuff sells fast, so if you’re curious, jump on it. watermelon is very nice weed but i’m not sure i’d prioritize it. we are a bit more curious about kootenay craft’s living soil weeds at this point than getting more watermelon, though i can easily see getting more in the future on an impulse buy. it’s very tasty and delivers.
thanks for reading and have a great high!

West Coast Diesel
incentive to purchase
: seeking a slightly less potent sativa than some of the ones i’d been toking, i decided to try one of the quads that were priced a bit less than the others. i wanted a strong sativa, just not quite as strong. west coast diesel is the one i picked.

the weed
: strong high. warm rush across front of body; tingling, rising sense of being swallowed by the rush, almost anxious. in that way it seems like a familiar sativa pressure. there’s definitely clarity. feeling enclosed in the high. bit of chest aggro; could see this moderate raciness stirring up someone’s anxiety, but not mine, i like it. warm, scratches the chest area. brain is focused. some pressure. solid go-energy. even-keeled, steady, but strong. a serviceable sativa-feeling. reliable, white-noise, focused. no flush of giddy well-being, just solid. kind of solid the way steel gears are solid. clean, smooth-working gears. quality, reliability. bose speakers. more silicone-valley-get-the-job-done than climb-a-mountain-and-finish-in-a-mosh-pit. high-strength higher-end sativa. bonus is a nice floaty behind-the-eyes focus.
one hour in
: a cozy throb in one lobe; nice because there was a shitty wakeup-headache there before. there is still industrial strength focus, a bit of tiredness in the limbs, but comfortable, even comforting. a comforting sativa in some respects, which is nice considering it is fairly strong. might be the most easy-going of the strong sativas i’ve tried from Speed Greens, reflected perhaps in it’s price, which comes in a bit lower than the heavier-hitting acapulco or bruce banner. that’s why i picked it, and it seems to have worked out. a bit more manageable, less aggro, than bruce banner, and probably more basic, it delivers a solid work-focus with a racy buzz. thank you daytime weed!

the Strain
: Sunkiss CBD
incentive to purchase
: it was time for something a little less aggressive than some of the quad-level strains legalization has suddenly made available to common folk like me. sunkiss cbd was selected on the promise of easy-going happiness provided through toking, with a bit of respite from the green-ish tinge that was coming over me on the journey through heavier-hitting legendary weeds. happy to report sunkiss cbd did not disappoint.
the weed
: the name is accurate as the high is a bit like a splash of warm sunlight on my day, my mood, and on my focusing energy. overall this is excellent weed for working and feeling bright and bouncy, and it delivers a relaxing come down.
late-night
: after much toking of various strains this one delivers an energy jolt up and down, like a little battery charge; nice and steady, and long enough to get well into a high-end focus.
two days in
: wonderful. a somewhat delicate breezy buzz, inducing fuzzy tingles around extremeties, face. nice. went in on a half with a friend, already realizing i may need more of this. goes very well with wim hof pushups with full-on armor-encased tingling; robust but a light stone. i love a light stone that is nevertheless pervasive like this. i don’t recall smoking weed like this too often, maybe some thai stick from 1978 or something like that. it settles into a warm body buzz about twenty minutes in, like a wave passed over me. the future bodes well for specific-effect weed. i love the mid-range stone and bright focus. an almost visible light-corona around the face region. definitely a happy brain.
appearance
: sweet-looking nuggety buds. tight ovals, like golden eggs with strands all around them and crystals up close. such a definite orangey appearance and fruit-diesely odor i wonder if i could pick it blind out of a lineup.
meditation and breath work
: oh yes, very nice. cruisin’.
conclusion
: smoking this on and off for a week it’s a favorite now. bright coronal feel-good energy around whole body, although primarily around upper frontal area, including a persistent gentle head aura. i’m guessing the higher cbd is what keeps this from ascending into the heavier thc feelings of other types, which i crave, but not always. tops for focusing with feel-good, and it’s a nice come-down from a couple of months of hitting the quads pretty hard. growing accustomed to legalization is good. intake is settling and weeds in the triple-ratings range are looking much more appealing now. manageable highs, easier on the pocketbook, and perhaps better overall for daytime work use.
thank you weed!

: sweet-looking nuggety buds. tight ovals, like golden eggs with strands all around them and crystals up close. such a definite orangey appearance and fruit-diesely odor i wonder if i could pick it blind out of a lineup.
meditation and breath work
: oh yes, very nice. cruisin’.
conclusion
: smoking this on and off for a week it’s a favorite now. bright coronal feel-good energy around whole body, although primarily around upper frontal area, including a persistent gentle head aura. i’m guessing the higher cbd is what keeps this from ascending into the heavier thc feelings of other types, which i crave, but not always. tops for focusing with feel-good, and it’s a nice come-down from a couple of months of hitting the quads pretty hard. growing accustomed to legalization is good. intake is settling and weeds in the triple-ratings range are looking much more appealing now. manageable highs, easier on the pocketbook, and perhaps better overall for daytime work use.
thank you weed!
thanks,
thinkbach

the mom:

https://www.speedgreens.ca
costs, shipping, service: Speed Greens deliver great weeds quickly and safely for a reasonable price. free shipping for 149 bucks, sign-up discount, sales, affili...ate program, and responsive customer service.
packaging: Speed Greens shines on packaging with plastic storage tubes and boveda packs. bonus are the labels: each plastic tube comes with a color drawing on the label along with the weed name and details. check out photos at bottom. why are the labels so cool? i like to imagine the fun pictures help to frame the high by priming user expectations. they also look great in the cupboard.
overall: SpeedGreens is one of the best MOMs we’ve tried and we keep coming back.
two playful strains:
SOUR PATCH KIDS
https://www.speedgreens.ca/product/sour-patch-kids-aaaa/
initial: flush to the head, mild raciness in chest, warm glow top half of body, some head pressure but it’s spread out with everything else. lot of head buzz, forehead heaviness around the eyes, chest tingles, thudding. feel blood pulse, but not aggressive. like it says on the Speed Greens site, it comes on all over, settles into relaxation, but keeps an alert side. it’s groovy. talking a lot with friends. just enough indica feel.
appearance: big yummy candy-smelling buds. smooth smoke, fruity flavour, grape soda. smells dank, fruity.
perceptual: bouncy, energetic. sense of relief. tingly in the face kind of like that sour response from the candy, all around the head. tickles, prickly, not a layer. mini pulse-waves or crackles of small sensations around the skull. very nice, bit goofy too. different than Bruce Banner, it’s not as much a focusing agent, more diffuse and playful. but the focus is there, the ability to sit and write, but it’s not a requirement. minor heaviness. mostly in the body. the initial rush settles into a nice body stone with clear vision and wakefulness. not a full-on lock, but nice to stay on the couch. all over fun feeling.
focus: focus is there as needed. enables high-productivity sessions of fun work. wouldn’t want to ask this to make a boring time interesting, it would probably suggest i go for a walk, but for fun enjoyable work which benefits from diffuse-thinking moments, with an easy return to the main focus, this weed provides a positive lift to creative thinking.
mood: a fun internal jumpiness mixed with a tingly body buzz
negatives: there may be a risk of increasing anxiety levels and/or nausea
one week in: will buy again for the focus mixed with playful body buzz
comparison: compared to Bruce Banner this weed is a bit swingy, more inclined toward fantasizing or simply doing nothing but feeling dazed in a dreamy way, yet that same quality can mean getting lost in some high-focus work in a creative way
conclusion: Sour Patch Kids is sweet candy. thank you, weed!
BRUCE BANNER
https://www.speedgreens.ca/product/bruce-banner-aaaa/
initial: came on strong. hit a bit harsh on the throat, even through a clean bong with fresh cold water. but it’s beautiful right away. a head buzz, like a layer all around the head. kind of like an outwardly expanding layer, like i was hulking out! this weed delivers a heavy comfortable focus. not too racy, more a steady ongoing get-outta-my-way. puts me in myself. steamroller do, do, do. but nice, not edgy. feel it in the head, face. numb all over for a few minutes, like i got novocained all over, then it settled into this steady bulgy focus feeling. i can go save the world! okay, maybe not, but i can definitely go to the gym. exhaling is nice. taste is nice, brown, berry, earthy. really earthy. smells earthy.
visual: deep green, light green tips, rust-colored hairs. lime green mixed with deep green. nice nugs, fine crystals all over
social: i prefer not to go out shopping if i’m stoned, but an hour after toking this i went out and chatted to several folks around the ‘hood. i noticed i was relaxed and easy-going. sometimes i’m overly emotional and chat too much. today i felt at ease around others, went about my day without too much projection, as i’m prone to do; didn’t worry too much about what people were thinking. sometimes i really obsess over that, so when a weed helps me to forget about it, i take notice. i would consider Bruce Banner for going into social situations, though i’d toke an hour or so beforehand. this would work well in fun social situations, but i expect it would work well in difficult situations. i’d also consider toking a bit before a business meeting in small doses. i would expect it to give me a comfortable social focus.
meditation: i was surprised at how well Bruce Banner performed during meditation. it didn’t lead to any deep and dreamy dives, but qigong light and energy meditations got nice and floaty with oxygenation. that said, it was a meditation with a definite tension, very much in the body. some weeds in deep relaxation kick the mind into outer space; Bruce Banner held my mind firmly in the body in relaxed alert way.
creativity: you could do math and science on this; or poetry, lit, philosophy, etc. on par with the best of weeds for that creative thing.
mood: elevated, upbeat, go-get-it, smiley.
comparison: compared to Acapulco Gold (https://www.speedgreens.ca/product/acapulco-gold-aaaa/), another very fine sativa which we’ve tried from Speed Greens, you could say Bruce Banner encloses you and carries you off on a secure ride, whereas the Gold asserts itself, turns you into mad max and sticks you on the front of a war boy vehicle. you got no choice! but the Bruce Banner is a bit more forgiving, gives me more control over my high; not as gripping, despite the nice hulk-out effect. alright, enough with the metaphors. time to shut up and smoke up!
one week in: very familiar with this effect now of the oncoming brain-expanding opening flush followed by the steady hulk-like focus. no feelings of smash, just a blinking intense focus. you are focused. you are here. this is working.
conclusion: i can imagine missing this when it’s gone. must buy again. thank you, weed!
extra strain:
GORILLA GLUE
there is a 3.5g of Gorilla Glue in the photo of the package, but since i only smoke it at end of day when i’m already twacked, i’ve been a bit ill-equipped to notice the effects that stand out. the only super clear effect i pick up on is the body buzz. in this case it’s strong and good. i’m glad i have some in the house.
