Sorry about the terrible pics, didn't have access to a passable camera but I wanted to get a review up.
Pink Tuna AAA
Visuals: Sadly I got a fair amount of popcorn in this ounce so it's not much to look at, the few mid sized buys are dense and fairly well covered in t...richs though the trim is inconsistent
Smell: Not super strong but still a fair amount of smell on this, more on the tuna side of things but you get hints of the gas and vanilla.
Taste: Similar to the smell though a little more on the earthy side, a little on the weaker side taste wise.
High: Fairly strong indica high, not a total KO but still nice.
Ratings: Overall 5.5/10 Value 7/10 It's trips that probably should have been marked as smalls/popcorn but for the
Visuals: Beautiful trich coverage an amazing mix of blues and greens just amazing, only possible complains are the buds could be bigger and the trim could be different but I like the looks the leaves give this.
Smell: Super unique, I wanna say it smells like a home...made mac and cheese, that smell of butter and shallots and cheese it's just bizzare and beautiful. When you crack in you get some citrus but still that unique aroma mentioned earlier quickly overtakes it.
taste: The unique savoury smell kinda comes through in the flavour but it's quickly taken over by a nice mild sweetness mid way through inhale and entirely on the exhale. another really interesting new to me aspect of this bud.
Potency: Strong Indica but not the strongest, above average but not a knock out.
Ratings: Overall 9/10 hits hard in every catagory, if the nugs were a little more consistently large and it was a touch more potency it would be a 10/10 killer but it just misses the mark. Value 8(?)/10 I'm not a regular quads smoker so figuring out how this compares to other products in the price range is difficult for me but I gave it this score because I wouldn't be disappointed in paying retail for this as a treat. Tom Ford Pink Kush
Visuals: Big chunky nugs, mix of dark greens with a few brown hairs spread throughout and a light at fight glance looking trich coverage but it's very sticky and overall pretty.
Smell: Strong sweet gassy pink smell, lovely.
Taste: more gass and herb on the flavour but some sweet still comes through.
Potency: Absolute killer, despite looking on the more mild mannered side it's a real KO indica, lovely for a relaxing evening of doing nothing.
Ratings: Overall 8/10 all around killer but to hit that top tier it realyl needs to be prettier and have a bit stronger taste. Value 8/10 At their retail of 180 I'm a little sad I didn't manage to snag a whole oz before it sold out.
Pre 98 bubba
Everything about this is old school kush, old school kush smell old school kush taste old school kush high, really nothing more can be said apart from this is a real solid example of just good old weed that tastes like weed and gets ya high.
Ratings: Overall: 7/10 Everything is old school but it's not a particularly amazing presentation of that old school. It's solid all around but has room to improve everywhere too. Value 6.5/10 At retail I think it's a fine price but not one I think I'd pick up again.
Smell: Sort of an herbal sweetness, I don’t think I’ve smelt something quite like this before it’s interesting.
Visuals: Dense nugs mostly medium chunky buds good trich coverage but a fairly poor trim, nice overall but a little more dilligence on the trim would ...have paid off loads.
Taste: The herbal notes stand out more in the flavour and there’s a hint of pine or earthiness too.
Potency: Just another solid indica buzz, little lacking on the body but it’s a good behind the eyes tired high.
Ratings: Overall: 7/10 Good not great, the flavour isn’t quite for me and the trim really needs work. Value: N/A I don’t see a listing for this on it’s own, only as a part of the mixnmatch ounce so I don’t have a good point to rate it on value.
Pink tuna AAA
Taste: not the strongest taste but it’s a very interesting mix of the sweet and gassyness of a pink kush with a base of that distinctive tuna kushyness. Sadly sometimes the tastes are very muted so despite a great flavour combination it doesn’t win too many points here.
Smell: More of a Kush/tuna smell with a few hints of sweetness from time to time. Nothing special and not too strong.
Potency: The lack in other areas is mostly made up for with a very decent indica body high, not the most potent but nothing to sneeze at either.
Visuals: Smaller-med buds, light green with orange hairs bud’s are decently tight and dense and the trim passable.
Ratings: Overall : 6.5/10 Disappointed here compared to everything else I’ve had from topshelf so far, it’s a good smoke but apart from being decently strong it’s AAA- - AA+ everywhere else I think it would be a AAA- from this 7g. Value: 5.5/10 from the bit I got I don’t think this is worth 170/oz but in this market I wouldn’t call it the worst deal out there.
Black Tuna AAA+
Taste: Classic tuna taste, clean kushy but sadly not too strong.
Smell: Just a nice tuna kushy smell, Not the strongest but it’s always there and always clear.
Visuals: dense mostly medium sized buds, trim could use work.
Potency: It’s a really nice couchlock indica, it doesn’t hit the hardest at first but once it hits you’re not getting up for a bit.
Ratings: Overall: 7/10 a good example of Tuna but it has room for improvement in every catagory. Value: 6/10 at 180/oz it’s just not worth it for me I think it’s more an example of a solid AAA than a AAA+ but that could just be the 7g I got my mix.
Ice Cream Cake By Gasleak AAAA
Smell: It’s a really hard smell to describe, there seems to be a lot at play. Some sort of citrus comes through most noticably at first but once you’re past that there’s layers of a kind of nutty kind of herbal sweetness, it’s really beautiful and I wish I had a better nose to really get in there and give a proper description.
Taste: Pretty much dead on to the smell but with this added something, it’s almost like a creaminess but I usually use that word for texture very very intriguing again something where I feel like I’m not experienced enough to give it the proper description.
Visuals: One big 4g+ nug with 3ish others to fill out the 7g, very nice trich coverage with a beautiful mix of dark greens just a touch of blue/purple on from the leaves and a good trim. Sadly squished so the visuals lose something but still very pretty.
Potency: One of the nicer Indica buzzes I’ve gotten from topshelfs stuff. It’s heavy but not draining if that makes sense, it’s not the strongest knock you on your ass strain but it’s one of the better ones I’ve had recently.
Ratings: Overall: 9/10 It rates high in every catagory for me, while Gasleak might not be the perfect craft quads I still think they earn that AAAA rating here. Value: 8/10 At 210 As a regular price I think it’s more than fair in this market, and it’s something I would consider for a nice little treat. glad I shelled out the extra 15$ to get this in my mix.
Little late on this cause I was having phone problems and was trying to wait to sort that out so I didn’t have to use these pretty bad pics, still having problems but wanna get this review up anyways so sorry about the poor quality pictures, onto the review.
Pink Death Star AAA+ ... Visuals: Dense nugs nice mix of dark and light greens, trich coverage is decent but not great looking. Nug size is generally medium with some smalls. Not fantastic bag appeal but nice enough looking.
Smell: Strong gassy sweet smell that’s just a pleasure every time you open the jar I absolutely love this smell.
Taste: Very similar to the smell, I’d say the gas comes through more in the taste and you get a bit of kushyness too, it’s one I really enjoy.
Potency: Strong indica. This is the second time I’ve had it and I’m noticing it as a harder hitter this time around even though it’s the same batch. Might be the other strains I have on hand or just random factors but very much enjoying it and it’s hitting me good.
Ratings: Overall 8.5/10 it’s a great overall bud could look nicer and maybe be a bit tastier but the potency and smell are really up there. Values 8/10 good but not great deal at 180, I’m hoping they restock this sometime soon.
Smell: A general sweetness hits you hard first, followed by some berry mixed with pine. Overall a great smell!
Visuals: Entire Oz was med-large nugs with a few smalls to fill it out. The colour is very pretty, deep purple mixed with light greens it’s quite the sight, very good trich cover...age generally pretty to look at. Sadly it came in a slightly small package so things got squished but I’m told it was already squished when the MoM received it so I don’t think I lost out there.
Taste: It’s got a sweet piney flavour with a touch of berry on the exhale. Based on the smell I expected more berry but overall I still found it enjoyable after the initial surprise pased.
Potency: Another just really solid indica buzz from topshelf. Not too drowsey but good in the body for me very enjoyable personally.
Rating: Overall: 8/10 Value: 7.5/10 AAAA- seems like a fairly accurate rating and at 165/oz it’s a solid grab.
**Smell:** Very very strong smell, sweet berry with a small hint of earthiness or something in the back. Absolutely potent smell that I really like.
**Visuals:** Medium nugs, very purple, good trich coverage and just all around pleasant to look at....r/>
**Flavour:** It tastes pretty much exactly how it smells, the taste is a touch muted because of some seedpods that seem to have started growing right before the chop but you don’t get any of that nasty seedpod flavour coming through at all.
**High:** Potent indica high mostly in the body, again I was expecting it to be not as potent cause of the seed pods in some of the buds but it still really gets there.
**Rating 8.5/10 Value 7/10** So far this is the most accurate rating I’ve come across on topshelf, Without the seed pods and with slightly larger buds this would be a true quad worth writing home about but surprisingly the seed pods don’t bring it down nearly as much as I expected when I saw them but I really wanna see this without them.
**Silver Fox AAAA**
Smell: Not super powerful but a very pleasant mix of earthiness and a kinda sour smell with another something I can’t quite identify. While a weaker smell it’s still a very enjoyable one.
**Visuals:** Med-Large nugs trimmed well with a nice contrast of colours and a nice to look at fox tailing, mine sadly god squished cause they ran outta their normal 7g sized packaging and had to downscale it so I didn’t get this quite as nice as I’ve seen others get it yet it’s still incredibly pretty.
**Taste:** Another one where the smell and taste are very similar there’s an added clean taste I can’t quite put into proper words that gets added as well for an all around great tasting smoke.
**High:** Sativa dominant head high for me, not really my thing but when the mood strikes it’s fantastic.
**Rating: 8/10 value: 7/10** This is an all around great smoke but I can’t quite give it full marks because I can’t accurately judge how good the high is for those who like sativas and this kind of high more. I don’t like having to give this a rating like that for reasons like this but I also can’t justify giving a higher rating without knowing what it’s like for those who seek it.
**GG#4 AAA**
**Smell:** Very strong earthiness hits you right away followed by what I wanna call a touch of Berry mixed in with some pepper and again something I can’t quite describe. Overall an enjoyable medium strength smell that is kinda hit or miss depending on my mood.
**Visuals: **Small-med nugs nice consistent medium shade of green throughout, Trim could use work and the trich coverage is good not great.
**Taste:** Just a strong earthy pine cannabis flavour. Again one of those flavours that isn’t for me but isn’t in any way bad.
**High:** It’s a mellow body high with a touch in your head too, a nice balance for the day, it’s harder for me to judge potency on things like this but I’d call it somewhere between good and great.
**Rating:** 6.5/10 value 6.5/10 Another rating I’m not sure of just because this feels like it might be a good example of a strain that isn’t for me. But since I can’t do predictive ratings for other people this is what it has to get. It’s a fine AAA but for me not a real stand out at the normal price I think it’s a fine buy but for me there are much better deals on topshelf let alone out there in general.
**Greasy Pink Kush AAA+**
Will edit when I’ve tried it more. First impressions 7g came in one giant nug a couple med nugs and 1-2 smaller ones to fill out the quarter. Smell is a nice medium strength of what I’m learning is the ’pink’ smell.
**Incentive:** Points for reviews.
Order was quick, didn’t need any CS this time but they’re quick to respond on their discord.
**Smell**: Gassy, Kushy, little sweet, gas comes out more when it’s ground. All around pleasant I usually end up smelling the jar for an extra min because I really enjoy the smell.
**Visuals**: Nugs are small-med but I’m not expecting giant beasts from ...7g in a mix and match, trichome coverage is decent, trim could be better all around decent.
**Flavour**: Tastes pretty similar to how it smells but the sweetness is more upfront on the taste. This is my first pink strain so I can’t comment on how it matches up to other pinks but I personally enjoy it a fair deal.
**High**: Solid potent Indica body high with that nice mild drowsiness behind the eyes, not a total knockout but I’d still stray away from it during the day unless you don’t have too much to do.
**Rating**: Quality 8/10 Value 7/10 It’s nice but I don’t think it quite earns it’s AAA+ rating and I’m rating value based on the 180 It’s listed at since I got it as part of a mixnmatch with the first timer discount. All around I’d say it’s a solid indica with a really solid smell and taste but it loses points on it’s trim and the high while good isn’t anything special, I’d recommend it for someone looking for a solid daily smoke with good flavour.
**Pink Bubba AAA**
**Smell**: Nice sweet gassy smell with a solid earthy background when you break into a nug you get a whiff of kush.
**Visuals**: Again Nugs small-medium sized, Trich coverage is nicer on this by a little but pretty similar, same can be said for the trim. All around very similar visually to the pink death star but just a tiny bit prettier.
**Flavour**: The earthy tones push themselves to the front there are small hints of the sweetness and gas and slightly more hints of kush than those. Not quite my thing but not bad in any way.
**High**: Another just solid indica, big more on the sleepy side than the Pink Death star was. Enjoyable and again more of a evening or night time smoke real solid.
**Rating**: Quality 7.5/10 Value 7/10 At the regular list price of 160/oz it’s a good deal, the taste isn’t for me but it’s still a solid AAA.
**Death Bubba AAA**: WILL UPDATE WHEN SMOKED. Haven’t smoked this stuff yet but I wanna put this review up on the rest of em since it will be a few days before I get around to this stuff. All I can say so far is the smell is a solid bubba smell and the nugs are very very dense.
**Blue Fin Tuna AAAA-**
**Smell**: A strong classic tuna smell with a chunk of sweetness added.
**Visuals*: Small-med nugs again, seems like a few less smalls than the others. Dense with a nice coverage of trichs a beautiful mixture of dark blue and green hues, could use a bit better trim but all around beautiful to look at.
**Flavour**: The sweetness comes out more in the flavour but the traditional tuna still asserts itself well enough, taste is a little muted sometimes but when it’s not it’s great.
**High**: A step up on the potency here for sure. It’s not quite as much of a knockout as I’d expect from a tuna strain but still strong body effects and a nice little buzz in the head too.
**Rating**: Quality: 8.5/10 Value: 7/10 at the regular price of 190/oz I’d call it a fair buy in today’s market. I think this is really on the edge of AAAA- and AAA+ when the flavour is all there it easily lands on the AAAA- side but theinconsistency there and the less than stellar trim make me think that AAA+ is probably a more accurate rating.
**MixnMatch ounce**
Gonna do a quick thing on how I felt about the quality of the mix and match ounce overall. The strain selection was pretty good though when I bought it they didn’t have any full AAAA, you get 7G that is a selection of AAAA(when availible) AAAA- or AAA+, the next 7g lets you pick from most of their AAA+ and all of their AAA and the last two 7 G are your choice of AAA or lesser. Any of the last 3 options you can select a higher grade for an aditional cost of 10-15$. at 155 I’d rate the value around 8/10 with the first timer discount to get it down to 124 I think it’s a solid 9/10 value wise. From the browsing I’ve done this is one of the better mixnmatch OZ’s on the market right now and I suggest everyone give it a shot.
**Incentive** 10$ in credit for this review. The only thing that that encouraged me personally to do was to actually start writing reviews instead of just thinking about writing reviews. which I hope to do more of in general in the future
If I missed anything feel free to ask me I’ll happily answer any questions I can.
