Picked up some of this Zhit Biscotti, grown by Captain Ron in a flourishing living aquaponic setup.
Appearance: 9.5/10 Super colourful, attractive, caked, deftly trimmed, good stickiness, excellent cure, right on point for what I’d expect from Skookum & Cpt Ron. Good sized buds in the ...tin as well.
Aroma: 9.2/10 Baked goods, sweet, herbal, a touch of gas/chem cleaner.
Flavour: 9.3/10 baked goods, chocolate, creamy, a touch gassy and spicy, burns to a light grey but slightly speckled ash.
High: 9.5/10 With its flavour and aroma profile I wasn’t expecting it to kick as hard. Very buzzy, strong and long-lasting. Manifested behind my eyes for the first portion, with the latter portions draping a calming blanket over my plans. Great for long periods of focus.
Overall: 9.3/10 Always happy to try something new, would I order again? I’m not sure, there are always so many flavourful choices on GetSkookum, but I would definitely recommend to those who enjoy a chocolatey flavour profile with big potency.
Great name & from The Wolf, this is a cross of Lemon Berry Candy OG x Ethos Cookies #16. Let’s do it.
Appearance: 9.2/10 - Most of the buds in my tin were quite big, sticky, hand-trimmed and frosty. Handling them leaves your fingers resinous, they have a pretty standard colour palette ...of light green and pale orange, maybe not the most remarkable in shape or morphology but expertly grown and processed.
Smell: 9.4/10 - bright and zesty with tangy citrus zest, it is piercing and pungent with sweet undertones.
Flavour: 9.5/10 - very smooth and citrusy flavours translate well with a candy sweetness also present. The flavour ensures throughout a joint. Burns to a very white ash.
High: 9.4/10 - This settles in behind my face and eyes and leaves me grinning hugely. Great for mindfulness/being present, for me this is a great daytime smoke.
Overall: 9.4/10 - Had no experience with the lineage but I’m super glad I tried this one. Great summertime flavour profile, this is getting rolled up and being brought to the beach.
This one also caught my eye being grown by The Wolf, cracking this tin was an interesting rollercoaster. Let’saGo!
Appearance: 9.6/10 - big chonkers, super densely formed and hand trimmed, the buds are fresh to the cure, shifts and moves like kinetic sand when you’ve chopped it. ... Smell: 9.1/10 - super pungent and earthy/umami, it smells like dried mushrooms and a bag of unshelled peanuts.
Flavour: 9.4/10 - great flavour that is toasty, nutty, and creamy with a hint of creamy cookie gas. Burns too clean.
High: 9.5/10 - This hits quite hard, if I’m smoking this all day I am going for an early bedtime. Mostly calming/stoney and it complements a lazy afternoon/snuggly evening.
Overall: 9.4/10 - when I cracked the tin, I thought “damn those are some impressive buds”, then I went searching for a PB aroma and was met with a very dank earthy funk, not that I disliked it I guess I went in expecting PB. Once it is lit, it is delightful. I smoked this way too fast, would get again.
Thank you to the person who lovingly packed this tin, all the buds were plated tip-up and it was a delight to open. Let’s dive in.
Appearance: 9.6/10 - really picturesque, I think the only think keeping me from giving it higher marks is that all the buds were slightly above average wit...h no big one, but I’m nitpicking to find demerits here. Tightly formed, very spot-on cure, evident hand trim, sticky, colourful and nicely glitzed in trichs.
Smell: 9.1/10 - reminded me of White Wedding from the same brand, a complex and hard to nail down aroma that blends a fermented fruity/grapey musk with vegetal radish celery and spice.
Flavour: 9.4/10 - this smokes like a dream. The cure/feed/moisture content translates to a hilariously good burn and great flavour translation. You’re still getting a tangy grape flavour well into the late sections of a joint. Burns to an almost pure white ash.
High: 9.3/10 - this hits me in a versatile sense, good for just about any time of day, has a formidable potency and keeps me honest.
Overall: 9.4/10 - This was a dark horse for me, I didn’t like the name that much and then the pictures looked great and if I see The Wolf I jump. Great bud.
So nice I got it twice, let’s review Grandaddy from GetSkookum. The cross is Katsu Kosai x Grandaddy Purp. Never heard of the first one but let’s dig in.
Appearance: 9.5/10 - pretty fantastic, the purple flourishes of colours, the still sticky cure, the hand trim, great bud size and ...formation. Has some wow factor.
Smell: 9.6/10 - this has a very intriguing mix of purple popsicle, lacquer/Chem, and anise. Leaves my grinder smelling grapey sweet for a whole day after.
Flavour: 9.6/10 - everything above translates well, it is grapey, gassy/chemmy, but ever so smooth. Burns to a very light fluffy ash.
High: 9.4/10 - very potent, this hits harder than a 31% THC pre roll that I tried on the legal market recently. I’m left feeling physically languid and sloshy, but focused. Great gaming cannabis, or creative project fuel, not so much for get up and go.
Overall: 9.5/10 - one of my top 5s from GetSkookum this past year and I’ve been tasting lots. More reviews to come soon, have been busy. This is a huge recommend from me.
Black Cherry comes from shrouded lineage but usually comes around ready to impress. Grown LSO by Skookum.
Appearance: 9.2/10- The 14g tin was comprised mainly of 3 large colas. Big bouldering formation, nicely hand trimmed and dense while the buds are trimmed very well. Some flourishes o...f bluish purple round out the attractive appeal.
Smell: 9.3/10- Cracking your tin gives rise to a creamy sweet aroma that mingles red fruit and field berries, with a hint of gassiness.
Flavour: 9.2/10- Smoking provides a lasting and creamy flavour that is nectarous and smooth with hints of sour cherry. Burns to a light fluffy ash.
High: 9/10- The effect drives right down the middle between stimulating and relaxing, while it imparts a focused and mindful effect that is happy and suitable for any time of day.
Overall: 9.2/10 - Very solid representation of this cultivar, nicely balanced and tastes great.
I am a huge fan of Exotic Genetix cultivars so when this popped up I carted it right away.
Appearance: 9.5/10 - pretty unruly and wild formation and absolutely dripping in trichomes. There are limey greens and purples offset by yellow and bright pistils, extracting the buds for pictures ...was a difficult task. Very sticky to the touch and cured nicely.
Aroma: 9.6/10 - loud, creamy, chemmy and sweet. Has some similarities to a mint chocolate chip.
Flavour: 9.6/10 - very flavourful in a joint right down to its finish, the smoke weighs on your lungs with a resinous cling but it smokes smoothly and hit flavours of creamy sweetness and gassy/chem.
High: 9.8/10 - this one caught me off guard with a walloping potency. It maintains a happy effect that is focused and mindful and delivers the big calm.
Overall: 9.7/10 - this one is in my top 3 of 2021, if it’s still on the menu next time I order, I’m getting more. Hits me with an enveloping therapy blanket effect that I am loving.
This is my first experience with this cultivar and this MOM, excited to jump right in.
Appearance: 8.6/10 - Tightly machine trimmed and covered in trichomes. The buds have some nice purplish blue hues, are a touch dry but nicely formed.
Smell: 8.7/10 - sweet tart candy and ev...ergreen/cedar with a bit of gassiness, nicely pungent and attractive.
Flavour: 8.6/10 - sweet and creamy on the inhale with a nice expansive and coating feel to the smoke. Decent flavour endurance and a very fluffy light ash in a joint.
High: 9.1/10 - very good potency, this settles in assertively with a buzzing face hum that later washes into a calming body stone. I’m eating all the snacks in the cupboard with this one.
Overall: 8.8/10 - really enjoyable smoke suitable for lazy afternoons, I was creative and focused playing some battle royale. Only loses some points for being slightly dry.
I’ve only had examples of this that were lower grade so I was excited (from a flavour-chasing mindset) to try this one out.
Appearance: 9.3/10 - some really big and robustly formed buds that showcase a bright and fresh arrangement of colours. Healthily coated in trichomes while the bud...s look to be hand trimmed to exacting standards. The buds are cured very nicely and it burns to a light grey and fluffy ash.
Smell: 9.3/10 - very sweet and attractive nose that blends berry, dessert and citrus freshness.
Flavour: 9.2/10 - sweet berry and creamy dessert with a hint of spice.
High: 9.3/10 - this hits with an invigorating stimulation that is great for inspiring creative/abstract thought or focusing attention to a sharp edge. Nicely potent and long lasting effects with minimal burnout, a great daytime smoke.
Overall: 9.3/10 - glad I got to try this one, would recommend to those who like a sweeter flavour profile and uplifting/daytime effects.
Whenever I see in the description that one of these Skoomum strains were grown by The Humble Gemini, I am putting it in my cart. Having had a number of their offerings in the past I consider their cannabis to be some of the most consistently impressive.
Appearance: 9.1/10 - the buds in m...y tin were medium strawberry sized, meticulously hand trimmed and glitzed out nicely in trichomes. The cure is spot on, with a nice snap to the stem and a stickiness to the touch. Burns nicely to a light fluffy ash.
Smell: 9.4/10 - very attractive to the nose with a sweet and creamy banana dessert aroma that is mixed with a gassy pungency.
Flavour: 9.4/10 - sweet and creamy with a gassy spice, nicely expansive and smooth to exhale.
High: 9.4/10 - for 17% THC this has a good bite to it. It maintains an effect that settles in behind the face and eyes at first and churns onward with a focused and calmed buzz. I’ve found this to be good to smoke any time.
Overall: 9.3/10 - this is really great weed, I’m having a blast trying all these cultivars and talking about them. This one fits my requirements for good performance and unique/attractive flavours and aroma.
