Rain of Frost by Cookies Grower - JJMeds - August

Was able to grab the last QP of the ROF, was curious how this would compare to the other cookies products while at a significant price drop. I will say this this is still a great smoke and at its price makes it even better!

The... flower came in fresh and sticky, staying clumped together while trying to get it out of the bags. Overall some pretty dense buds with good structure and trim, I would say the density is in between the CVL and Coca-cola cake (June batch) which I really like. Nice and fluffy when ground up and super easy to work with as well, great for rolling and packing big bowls.

The nose is a sweet creamy gas that is a nice mix, and gets more pungent after being ground up! The taste is slightly similar to the nose but with a more kush instead of sweet, not bad, just not my preference, I find the ROF tastes better in joints then thru glass with more of the sweetness coming through to start.

It smokes and burns great just like everything else I've had from Cookies grower, clean white ash with occasional pepper, smooth on the lungs and throat while burning nice and slow. Very enjoyable experience smoking this one and at the price I don't feel as bad rolling up a bigger joint like I do with some of the more expensive cookies options.

The high with this one is a really enjoyable typical indica buzz, gets you feeling relaxed with a heavy body, slight couchlock and pretty sedative. I find it a great evening/night time smoke that is perfect for a chill night in and works great for sleeping. The Potency is also pretty good, definitely has some punch to it, but not quite at the same level as my previous strains from Cookies grower, still great though.

Gelato from JJmeds

First off, sorry for the bad pictures. I have a few videos i planned on using instead but it wont let me so the meh photos it is unfortunately, may try to imgur the vid after.

Look/Nose/Cure: Buds are darker green majority with hints of light green throughout... and dark leaves giving the nugs a darker exterior. There are vibrant orange hairs that contrast with the dark shade of nug making the heavy trichome coverage and orange hairs pop even more. Trim could have been better as it has a few dark leaves still around the edges but not bad, no complaints for the price. Initially the nose was a bit muted after coming in from outside, but it bounced back very nicely, quite pungent and reminds me of past gelato’s but with less creamy doughy and more kinda funky fruit candy. I really enjoy the sweet, cream-doughy cuts of Gelato but this is a nice slight change from what I usually get. Upon arrival these were some of the freshest flower ive ever received, nicely cured not crispy, had a nice squish to it but still pretty dense. Good cure, buds were decently sticky,broke apart easily, grinded up fluffy and clumps up nicely making it easy for rolling.

Smoke/Burn/Ash: Consumed through bongs and joints, both have been great experiences. The smoke is nice, thick and smooth, smoother through glass as joints have a very minimal harshness but only with larger puffs, barely noticeable. Easy to roll with a good burn from start to finish with white ash, hints of dark but good along with a little oil ring. I've been really enjoying consuming it both ways but think I prefer joints with this one, it's so nice.

High/Potency: This had a very enjoyable high, not too heavy but not very energizing either so a good afternoon and evening smoke. Buzz comes in kinda gradually starting with a slightly foggy head and heavy eyes. The body buzz follows shortly with no couchlock and a bit of sedation with larder consumption. Similar high to previous Gelato’s i've had which is one of my favourites, great for chilling out and getting some things done just depends on your mood. Potency is solid, not crazy but good, overall very enjoyable high and potency especially at this price point.

Overall: Overall this flower is very enjoyable at a reasonable price at $95 an oz. I would rate this in the AAA+/AAAA range, definitely no less than AAA+ as its a great flower overall its just missing a very few things to make it a real Quad imo but at that price im not expecting a quad and am happily satisfied with what i've received. Would definitely grab some more at this price point.

Purple OG from JJMeds

Grabbed 2 oz at $120 each oz, relatively happy with what I received for the price. Package arrived on a tuesday, ordered on the previous friday, came well packaged with no smell or issues.

Look/Nose/Cure: Buds were mostly darker purple all around with hint...s of green spots and undertone. Overall nug size was medium with a bit of smalls each oz, not bad just not large nugs. Generous trichome coverage covering the purple bud gives a lighter shade on top. Nose wasn’t very strong but very pleasant (not what i'm used to), gives a slightly floral-like smell with a bit of kush but not gassy, diesel or fruity terps. The nugs aren't super dense with a slight fluffiness to them, but cured very nicely with good moisture (not dry or crispy) and grinds up nicely, easy for rolling and packing bowls. Nice stickiness to it as well,, won't stick to your finger completely after squeezing but will leave your finger kinda sticky/gummy.

Smoke/Burn: Mainly consumed with a bong, but I did smoke a few joints of it as well. Through the bong it is a very smooth and enjoyable experience, smoke was smooth with some of the floral kush taste coming through (more on the floral in bong) with minimal to no harshness. In a joint though it was a little bit less enjoyable in my opinion, like I said it was nice and easy to roll with but it lost a majority of the floral taste leaving mostly kush. My joints burned alright, nothing great to write home about unfortunately, ash was salt and pepper with a bit more pepper than I would usually like, it went out about half way after not puffing for a bit but didn't burn out super quick or go out too easily. Not bad, just more enjoyable through some glass imo.

High/Potency: I found the high was the most enjoyable part, a nice and mellow indica buzz without any effects that stand out substantially more than others. Relatively clear headed high that washes away racing thoughts with a nice wave of physical relaxation, mellow high without too much couch-lock or sedation, it wont knock you out but definitely not a motivating strain (if consumed in larger quantities it will make you sleepy). Great for night time just chilling out or before bed. Potency was not bad by any means, just nothing crazy as its not a super strong/punchy strain (I found the pink kush x critical purple kush more potent but this was a better high imo).

(High=8.2/10) (Potency=7.6/10)

Overall: Nice and enjoyable flower, reasonable for the price but I think I prefer the pink kush x crit. Purple at $100 an oz. I would rate this in the AAA+ category, not a quad (wasn't expecting craft quality at this price) but still a very enjoyable smoke with a good high. Glad I tried it, not sure if I would pick it up again at $120 an oz, maybe $95-$110 an oz I would consider (with discounts/reviews that price is attainable).

Pink Kush x Critical Purple Kush from JJMeds

First time trying JJmeds after hearing plenty of good things recently so decided to give them a shot. I got this as well as the Purple OG, both at pretty reasonable prices but this one pleasantly surprised me at $100 an oz. Came in well package...d and within a few days of ordering.

Look/Nose/Cure: oz came in with a majority consisting of medium sized buds and a few smaller nugs but not very much. The nugs have a nice vibrant shade of green with a few darker green leaves along with some nice undertones of purple on breaking up. Similar look to most pink crosses i've tried with maybe a bit more purple. Some very nice looking trichome coverage, with even little amounts of light making the bud glissen. The trim could have been better but nothing really to complain about for the price. The nose wasn’t very pungent but definitely noticeable and pleasant, it leans more on the pink kush side with the smell being slightly sweet, gassy kush, maybe a hint of something else but hard to say. The nugs came in nicely cured with a good level of squish to it, relatively dense and sticky as well, overall very happy with the cure. It grinds up quite nicely, sticky, fresh and fluffy, easy to roll and pack bowls with.

Smoke/Burn: Majority of my indulgence has been through a bong, but I have also tried a J and both were delightful. Smoke is overall smooth, maybe a slight scratchiness in the back of the throat on larger hits but nothing too bad. My joint burnt fine, didn't go out or anything and the ash was a mix of salt and pepper ash, slightly more on the salt side.

High/Potency: The potency was what stood out the most to me about this flower, I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice little punch it packed in each bowl. The high wasnt super long lasting but was nice while it lasted. For me the high started with a quick cerebral buzz that crept behind my eyes making me kinda zone out as watching shows, the buzz quickly moved down throughout the body giving a heavier body high that can couch lock if consumed in larger quantities. High definitely has some of the classic pink kush characteristics to it, very enjoyable later in the evening or night for chilling out with some shows or games. Got a bit of munchies to go with it. The high and potency are definitely enjoyable with this one, especially for the price, I haven't found much in this price range that hits this hard.

Overall: Very enjoyable flower especially at this price point. This is definitely in the AAA+ category, better than typical trips for sure but calling it a quad would be pushing it in my opinion, for the price it is definitely a solid purchase and can't go wrong with it. I hope they continue to bring this level of quality at this price point, because this may be what the market needs right now. (Overall=7.8/10) (Quality=7.6/10) (Value=8.8/10)

Onto my last few nugs of Death Mint Cookies, I got a half-oz and ordered on Jan 29 (Friday) and it arrived on tuesday. I will probably be getting more of this soon as there isnt much else I can get with this quality for the price reliably and consistently. I am looking to try out new places as well ...with reasonable prices for the quality, I have had my fun with craft flower for now, just can't justify spending $200+ an oz rn. If anyone has recommendations to take a peak at, it's always appreciated. :)

Visual: Similar to the last time I got DMC but this batch was even better visually than the last, with looks closer to the Death chocolate mousse this time. It has a nice darker green for the majority of the nugs with a yellow-ish tint from the abundance of trichomes with some darker patches and leaves. There's also a decent amount of orange hairs I also got some bits of purple once broken up. For the price, I am happy with the bag appeal and the trim was overall good, just the occasional extra leaf.

Smell/taste: I definitely get the usual sweet doughy nose that I remember from last time, but this batch has a more punchy, in your face nose when you open the jar. IMO I think the Death mint cookies has a bit more of a pungent nose compared to the DCM (at least from the batch I got most recently). Majority of consumption was done with a bong, has a pleasant taste with it through there but it's a pleasure to smoke in a joint with bits of doughy dank gassy taste.

Texture: This is one of the things that I love about this strain that keeps me coming back. The nugs are nice and dense with a decent yield once grinded up, stuff sticks up my grinder pretty well. It's easy as heck to roll with nice and sticky a great moisture level, which is one of MY most important factors when looking for flower. Packing bowls is too easy, grab a pinch and it all clumps together due to the freshness.

Smoke: A good clean smooth smoke with very minimal irritation every once in while on much bigger puffs. Easy to smoke a .5g joint solo with essentially no coughing. I have used a couple of different papers and there's a nice oil ring each time pretty quickly with a white ash. It also has a pleasantly thick smoke, burning nice and evenly

High: This one has always been in my rotation because my girlfriend and I really enjoy the buzz, A nice balance of head high and body buzz, which is ideal for us as sometimes we can get a little anxious from sativa dominants and the heavier indicas usually knock her out when she doesn't want to sleep yet. This makes it a good anytime strain for us as we dont get super sedated and need a nap through the day or get really paranoid. My tolerance is a bit higher than hers so I can do stuff like cleaning, photography and other hobbies easy, while she can too, she likes it more for chilling, and watching videos.

I understand there are reviews of this around the sub already, but I wanted to share my experience to hopefully help others find what they might like or would like to try.

I ordered this batch on January 6th and arrived within the week. This is my second time ordering the Death Chocolate ...Mousse, with my first oz from the early December batch. In my first batch I absolutely loved it so I wanted to get some more. Ill start off with the moment I cracked open the bag, I was hit with that same DCM nose as last batch but with a bit less gas and funk pungency to it, still a great doughy goodness just not as in your face with the gas and funk as the previous batch IMO. Visually I noticed a bit of difference between this and the previous I had. The January batch was a bit more fluffy with more squish to them but still pretty dense (just not as Solid of a density feeling as previous batch), the flower was noticeably darker with more of a shaded green rather than its usual more vibrant lighter green (almost yellow-ish tint from trichomes). Still despite the difference in appearance this batch still has great bag appeal with a good cure and stickiness (easy as heck to roll). It smoked great with a consistent white ash (with the occasional salt and pepper, rare but more than the previous batch) and a smooth smoke too. After a tasty smoke, I get a nice indica buzz going with a bit of a nice head high with it, overall a great high! Definitely one of my favourites and will be looking to get some more in the future

The last picture is from the December batch so you can see the visual differences between the two batches. Both batches are fantastic, but personally I think I like the December batch more

This was my third time ordering from HGA, my previous 2 orders with them I only got the Death Mint Cookies smalls when they went on sale. I kept hearing about the Death Chocolate Mousse as well as the DMC so I really wanted to try and comp...are the two as I hear they are kind of similar in many ways according to other reviews. I Really liked the DMC so I wanted to give it a shot. Yes I am very aware there have been plenty of reviews on the reddit sub, and I planned to review this either way to share the experience and help others find something they might enjoy :)

I got an oz with most of the nugs around 1.5g - 3g of nice and dense bud, a Chonky 5.0g nug and a few See More

I just finished my last nug of Polynesian Thin Mints from the Captain, sourced through Coastal Wildfire

Appearance: The nugs had a nice shade of green with light orange hairs all around. The nug has small areas with lighter and darker shades of green with plenty of trichomes covering its ...entirety. Trim was good with no complaints, just a few sugar leafs but that doesn’t really bother me. In my half oz there was a 5g and 3.5g nug with the rest ranging from 0.5g to 2g. It was actually quite dense, there is a nice squish from this fresh bud but not not much actual give when squeezing the nug. I got more than I expected when I grinded it up. It was VERY sticky, busting it up left my fingers all sticky, I would say just as sticky as the Scoops from EveningStar Craft if not Stickier!

Smell: Ok, when I took these out of the Jar for pictures it stunk up the Whole house within 15 minutes of being out. I definitely notice the cookies but also notice it's got a nice gas to it. When smelling it you can tell it's more than a normal cookie strain cause it's got a nice funk to it, definitely a pungent nose with this one.

Smoke: The cure and smoke were great, smooth but still a dense smoke. Majority of consumption was done with bongs. The ash was white with slight hints of pepper but a great burn overall in my opinion. The taste comes through similar to the nose. Overall great smoking experience with this one

High: I have heard some good things about this strain, so I had “High” hopes for this one. I would say the high is a slightly indica dominant hybrid. After my first rip a nice wave of physical buzz hits and as it settles in the high moves up to my head for a very nice cerebral high. I was still functional with little to no couchlock, but I had a little trouble staying focused as I kinda wanted to relax and watch shows. Personally, I would wait until the afternoon or evening before smoking this unless I didn't have a lot planned for the day, it isn't really sedating I just didn't really feel like doing much work after. When I consumed it in larger quantities I still had a nice balance of head and body high but as it progresses it moves to slightly more of a body high.

Overall: To be honest, this has been some of the best bud I have received this year and I have tried a quite few different AAAA buds over the past months. From bag appeal to the high itself, this is some truly fantastic flower and I would reorder in a heartbeat, definitely one of my top picks from my CWF order (got 5 strains in this order).

I kept hearing great things about HGA’s Death Mint Cookies and Death Chocolate Mousse so I wanted to try whichever went on sale first. (at the time DMC went on sale first). I had been keeping tabs on the site for a sale and I was able to grab the smalls/popcorn oz for $137. I used a referral code ...for $25 off and got the $29 Purolator shipping and the total came to $141. And if it’s AAAA at this price I don’t mind getting the smalls. Ordered this on a Wednesday and it arrived friday afternoon.

Look: The ounce was composed of smaller nugs ranging from about 0.2g to 1g. The trim is good but there were a few smaller lugs with a bit of extra unnecessary leaf but at the price im not really upset about it. The buds had a nice light green colour with bits of darker leafs on the outside of the nugs. They are also covered with light orange hairs. Overall the buds are well covered with a nice layer of trichomes even though the nugs are on the smaller side. It has a nice squish to the bud with stickiness on my fingers when grinding it up.

Smell/Taste: For the Smell i get some of that classic cookies smell with some hints of sweet and almost creamy. But there is more to the smell than that, it also has a bit of some funky gassy doughy smell to it. The taste has that sweet doughy cookie taste with a hint of gas for me on the inhale. In general im happy and enjoying the terp profile of this flower

Smoke: I have smoked it in a .5g joint, 2g joint and most of the time it’s through the bong. When in the joints it had a nice clean burn with white ash throughout, it didn’t burn too quickly which I liked. The DMC has a very thick and dense smoke to it that I find with many of my other potent strains (often my indica’s).

Effects: The effects started with a bit more of a balanced high with a bit going to my head and a light body buzz that is pleasant. As the high continues it moves down the body intensifying the body buzz a bit more with a nice state of relaxation. Most of the time I will save this for evening or night time use as I do get a bit tired after if I smoke this. Overall a very nice buzz with a balanced indica dominant hybrid feel.

I would Order this again In the future If it goes on sale, but at full price im not sure I would be willing to pay.See More
