Bought 28g of the new batch of C99 from PhatNug, the new batch is a different phenotype than their previous one so the description wasn’t really accurate.
The buds themselves are caked, light green in colour and the nose of musty cheese. I was a bit confused as C99 is usually more like ro...tting pineapples or sweet earthy grapefruit. Turns out there is a very unique pheno type of C99 called C99 F42, i’ve only ever found one reference to it and it’s on the [microgrowery subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/microgrowery/comments/66cvyo/cinderella_99_f42_rotten_meat_old_cheese_phenotype/).
The taste is much like the nose and the effect is much more indica then I’m used to for C99. The high starts off racy and energetic with some brain fog, then lets you down into a mellow lethargy - probably good for daytime pain management.
**Packaging**: two mylar bags with 14g of flower in each, these were vac sealed in a bag, and that was vac sealed in a bigger bag. Sent in a large bubble maile...r envelope.
**Appearance**: Such strange flower, bit scraggly, but really interesting. Green across the spectrum from light to dark and even into some crazy purple. There was about 2-3g of scrag - i don’t mind since all the stuff i clean up goes in the butter bin. The bud pictured though is pretty much untouched. Bit dry but not overly, and strangely sticky with handling.
**Nose**: Slightly citrus sweet, spicy earth, and gassy. Coming in and out of the room would hit me with the nostalgia of walking into my high school dealer’s basement.
**Smoke Report**: Busted up nice, was a bit sticky to roll so don’t work it too much or too tight - burned black at first then to mostly grey. Big inhale power on this, spicy gas with just a bit of sweetness to keep coming back. By the third hit I felt it jab me right behind the eyes. Really nice strain to be stationary but productive/active; great for coding/studying/working/video games. Focused but stoned.
Pretty nice strain, this particular batch seems a bit rough around the edges but for 125/oz i’m pretty happy with it.
[Alien OG from MaryJane’s Rooms](https://maryjanesrooms.com/store/products/alien-og-aaa/)
I stick to sativa’s and sativa leaning hybrids, wanted to switch it up and gave Alien OG a try. I was putting an edibles order in with MJR and i enjoyed their Jack Herer so I figured I’ll give a ...couple of their indica flowers a go. I dove into the Alien OG first.
**Packaging**: Sealed in a mylar bag, which was vac sealed. that package was vac sealed together with the other products. My order contained buds and edibles so it arrived in a box (sig required)
**Appearance**: My 3.5g contained three dense rock nugs, the one pictured is 1.4g and that’s after i snatched a bud from it. Well trimmed, well cured and was ready to smoke upon arrival.
**Scent**: Sweet woody pine when handling, as soon as you start to break it up with your fingers or a grinder some gas is released.
**Smoke Report**: Burns real nice in a smoking paper deluxe, the burn rate is just right, it’s a slow heavy burn if rolled too tightly. The happy spacey cerebral effect takes almost right away and the body effects are a slow creeper. I’ve smoked three joints of this so far and each time the body effects start in the face and melt downward, real nice for some seated relaxing.
This is the second of three strains from my first order with Herb Approach, first was [Acapulco Gold](https://www.reddit.com/r/MOMpics/comments/7hur77/acapulco_gold_from_herb_approach_7g60_sale/))
This review is for [Chocolope from Herb Approach](https://herbapproach.com/product/chocolope-s...train/).
**Packaging**: Arrived in the standard sealed Herb Approach bag. The weight was 7.2 but there was a lot of scraggly leaf, leaving smokeable product under 6g.
**Appearance**: Dark and frosty, really dense popcorn buds under all the leaf.
**Scent**: Straw, it smelt a lot like straw, still does.
**Smoke Report**: Buds busted up nice and rolled pretty easily, the initial taste is much like straw but once the J gets going the flavours are all over the map... spicy wood earth, tobacco, used coffee ground, chocolate. The high comes on fast and hard and mellows out to happy, focused, and energized. Probably not good for those prone to anxiety or panic attacks because of the initial hit. The burnout is a bit too heavy for my liking but won’t put you out.
First order from Green Society, heard decent things about the grapefruit and decided to take advantage of their black friday sale. $20 shipping but sign up points was instant $10 off so the whole order was 175 shipped.
**Packaging**: 28g arrived sealed in a branded green society mylar bag,... no odor. There were some additional goodies i didn’t expect; paper, a small plastic grinder, matches, a sticker.
**Appearance**: These were the biggest buds, mostly small buds in this ounce, but real frosty. The kief these buds produce is impressive. Dense buds, not rock hard but dense enough to bust up pretty big.
**Scent**: Mild sweet grapefruit, also rather earthy, like a dry field.
**Smoke Report**: Buds bust up big and leave piles of kief in their wake, rolled up easy and predictably. Smoke was smooth and and heavy on citrus, joint starts off sweet but ends floral almost spicy. Pretty mellow buzz, zero body and all in the head and mood. Felt relaxed, happy, focused when something was going on but if I didn’t have anything to hold my attention it tends to be a bit spacey. Decent stuff, I’ll keep smoking the big buds and the smaller nugs and pebbles I’m going to make into edibles.
This is one of three strains from my first order with Herb Approach, I took advantage of their black friday sales as well.
This review is for [Acapulco Gold from Herb Approach](https://herbapproach.com/product/acapulco-gold-2/)
**Packaging:** Each strain came in a measured out, br...anded, resealable package. I’m not too fond of this type personally but does the job nicely for discrete and professional shipping.
**Appearance**: First time I’ve seen a purple pheno A. Gold, usually a much darker green overall too. Anyway, still looks pretty damn good. Trim job is good, buds are well preserved without being scraggly with leaf.
**Scent**: sweet musty earth, tastes that way too.
**Smoke Report**: Burned real nice in a joint, grey/white ash and smooth smoke all the way through. Good energetic yet relaxed vibe that’s not at all overpowering, great for evening solo burns or at a party.
