This pack was arranged via discord, so I cannot speak to ordering. BB’s pricing at the surface seems very good. However, if you dig a bit deeper, you will realise that there ar...e hits and misses going on among their strains. The zedd is priced at $99/oz and is the same price as the Purple OG, but they are NOWHERE close to the same in quality. Zedd is levels superior to the OG. So what does that mean for the consumer? It means your order is a complete gamble, because these prices do not reflect the actual quality of the buds. It also means that gamble could pay off big, as in the case of the Zedd, but I wouldn’t want to be at the losing end of that gamble, because when we consider one strain is literally twice as good as another, yet priced the same, there are bound to be some upset customers. Additionally, the OG’s are priced at $99/oz to $1400/lb, and the Zedd is priced at $99/oz to $1500/lb--the Zedd goes UP in price for bulk?! How’s that work guys?
Communication & Packaging:
Communication and CS with BB is very good, they have been polite, professional and prompt. Packaging was discreet and smellproof. The sample bags had no branding and the strain names simply sharpied on, but it’s early days.

Note: I have a strong belief that my blue dream and melon nuken samples were crossbagged, as the blue dream sample looks and smells exactly like three other nuken cuts I have on hand, and the nuken sample smells a whole lot like Blue Dream. I could be wrong, but I’ll eat my shoe if I am. For the purpose of review, I went with my gut and not BB labels, so the blue dream labelled bag was reviewed as nuken, and vice versa.

Genetics: Unknown Nose/Flavour: Spicy/peppery and earthy. Trim/Size/Density/Cure: Trim is a tad scrappy, size is small (<0.5g), density is medium-high, cure and humidity is good, has squish but not dank. Lift/BuzZ: Good wake and bake weed; boost of energy, clear headed, minimal body buzz. Functional high. Potency/Quality: The stone was surprisingly nice, albeit a tad short in duration. I’d probably say AA to AA+ in terms of potency. Overall: 6/10

Genetics: Chocolate Trip x Cinderella 99 Nose/Flavour: Best way I can think to describe these terps is organically sweet. There’s none of that artificial sharpness to it. Quite nice. Trim//Size/Density/Cure: Trim is okay, size is small (<0.5g), density is medium, cure is good, not dank but has a nice consistency when broken apart. Lift/Buzz: I find this buzz quite sativa leaning and heady, but it is more psychoactive and less clear headed than the J-27… more daydreamy. Potency/Quality: Again, like the J-27, the high is just nice, it isn’t a rocketship, and the effects are at the shorter end of duration. AA to AA+... Very similar quality to the J-27, but I prefer this buzz. Overall: 6.3/10

Genetics: Blueberry x Haze Flavour/Nose: Sweetly peppery. Trim//Size/Density: Trim is good, buds are tiny, density is medium, cure is alright. Lift/Buzz: Blue Dream has a great buzz, unfortunately this isn’t great BD. It has the right buzz, its heady and has an energetic appeal, but it is quite weak and short lived. That said, it’s priced at $99oz, and at THAT price, there is definitely value here, because it isn’t BAD weed by any means, just don’t expect to be blown away. Potency/Quality: AA. Overall: 5/10

Genetics: Nuken x Melon Kush Flavour/Nose: Classic nuken terps, but I didn’t pick up much in the vein of melon. Trim//Size/Density: Trim is good, size is smalls (<0.5g), density is high, and the cure is nice--interior of the buds are nice and fresh. Lift/Buzz: Nuken is another psychoactive one for me; it’s one of the strains I like for listening to music or playing video games as I seem to zone in a bit deeper. This cross of nuken has a nice dose of relaxation effects as well, probably due to the kush genetics. Potency/Quality: AA+ to AAA-, and I think $109/oz is a pretty good value for this quality. Overall: 7/10

Genetics: OG Kush x Purple Kush Nose/Flavour: Bit skunky and fuely, but it is pretty muted, the taste is mild and the smell is only prevalent when the buds are milled up. Trim//Size/Density/Cure: Trim is a bit scrappy, size is small (<0.5g), density is medium-high, humidity is approaching dry. : Lift/Buzz: Proper kush stone, relaxing and slightly sedative. Potency/Quality: Not great, a top example of this strain should knock you on your ass, I found the buzz very mild and short acting. Even at $99/oz, I’d be hard pressed to buy this, especially when you can get twice the quality for the same price. Overall: 4.5/10

Genetics: Brazilian Sativa x South Indian Indica Nose/Flavour: Strong skunky and piney terps. Trim//Size/Density/Cure: Trim is hard to comment on as most of the buds were smashed up pretty good, size is tiny, density is medium-high, and the humidity is again approaching dry. Lift/Buzz: WW is one of my all-time favourite hybrid strains. I experience the kind of stone I remember from when I was young; droopy eyes, dopey brain, giggles, etc. Potency/Quality: A step up from the previous strains, definitely a better quality in terms of terp quality and potency. I think I can reasonably call this AAA potency, but it loses points for its scrappy appearance and beat up buds. Overall: 7/10

Genetics: 100% Pure Indica (purportedly) Nose/Flavour: Zedd has a smooth, naturally sweet/perfumey/floral nose and tongue. Trim//Size/Density/Cure: Trim is excellent, size is popcorn (<1g), density is medium-high, and it has good moisture content-not dank, but probably the closest to dank of any of the strains I received. Lift/Buzz: Heavily sedative; beyond couchlock… Bedlock. For insomniacs, look no further. Potency/Quality: I’d say it’s an easy AAA+, and at $99oz, it’s by far the best value among all the strains I tried from BB. Overall: 8.1/10

Conclusions:
Firstly, I’d like to thank Boxed Buds for their kind giveaways to the community via discord recently, they certainly seem determined to make waves. I feel like this company is going hard at being a mid-level, budget-end, bulk provider, and I think to that end they are doing a great job in terms of pricing. That said, they definitely need to work on their quality recognition, as I could definitely see some headaches down the line with respect to customers upset that they paid the same or similar prices for wildly differing quality.
Hey bro. It’s definitely one of the better ones so far, along with the Willy Wonka. Zedd looks promising too but I do believe they are the 119ers and not 99ers. This pack got stuck in transit and should have been here around December 27 so these are are the older strains.
Wasn’t dry at... all despite the long ship and moderately sticky with a pleasant berry and pine type aroma. Actually reminds me a lot of the blue cap crush I have. Smokes ok too with a subtle berry flavour with hints of pine. The way it burned actually surprised me. Very resinous with an instant oil ring and white ash. I use ultra thin element papers for ash tests btw.
Decent hybrid high to follow that had me relaxed and creative/functional. Overall not bad at all but this was a sample so I didn’t get to experience it to the fullest.
Appearance: Great looking nugs. Holds true to it’s name and is very frosty. I’ve never seen budget bulk with so much kief on it. Nice light green colour with orange hairs. Denser bud than it loo...ks.
Nose/Flavour Profile: Very sweet. The website described it as a cross of Gelato, so I expect that sweet sticky smell.
Ash: Leaves behind light white ash
High: This strain packs a HUGE punch. I read that it was a cross between Gelato and the Wedding cake so I had high hopes as they two strains are some of my favourites. Had me glued to my seat but what also a nice clear headed high. Nice long high that lasted a while and didn’t leave me feeling groggy.
Bag Appeal - Very dense and slightly sticky nug. Easy to roll and nice burning in joint form. Light green buds with some mossy green leaf with orange pistils busting through the extremely dense bud with a nice coating of frosty white trichomes covering these buds. Nice looking weed for sure. .../>Smell - the site describes it well. Has a nice strong citrus smell that turns to an earthy/musky smell once busted open. Once grinder, you can smell the piney scent described in the description as well. Very accurate description of the smell on the website
Taste - kind of a creamy/earthy taste on exhale. Hard to describe but, tastes pretty good
Smoke - light grey smoke that is pretty smooth
Ash - Salt and pepper ash that is light and fluffy
Buzz - I am not big on sativas as i have anxiety amd most sativa’s will make it worse. Not this one! Very nice happy and uplifting sativa high. When I smoked this for the 1st time I was running on little to no sleep. I had to make my pregnant wife supper and wanted to see if it would help get me goin. After smoking it I made her supper and was buzzing around the entire house cleaning. Also made me quite talkative. Didn’t seem to have any kinda crash or comedown whatsoever. Was also nice and long lasting. This is a Sativa that I can add to my list of smokeables!
