Gelato

Nice sweet aroma, not incredibly pungent, but still enjoyable. Pretty dry, but a jar and a boveda will help with that. Medium strength high that’s definitely not as strong as most Gelato I’ve tried, but I expected that at this price. 61/100(AA+)

Black Diamond

Decently pungent fruity/gassy smell on this one, that same flavor of a lot of ’Black’ strains. Decent high, nothing incredibly potent, 20-30 minutes before I smoke a second bowl, but I smoke like a chimney normally. 54/100 (AA)

Pink Kush

My favorite of the bunch. Beautiful looking nugs that are mostly nice sizes, decent sweet Kush smell that has gotten much more pungent over a few days in jar with a 62% RH Boveda. The high is a little bit of a letdown since it’s nowhere near as strong as I expected with the great look/smell, but it’s still pretty nice. Mid-strength indica high that would put a rookie to sleep. 64/100(AA+)

Love Potion

Not a great strain in my opinion, nice colors, with a decent earthy smell but the high is short-lived and fairly underwhelming. Gets a few points back for how beautiful the nugs look. 55/100(AA)

Girl Scout Cookies

Probably my least favorite of the bunch. Light sweet smell, smoke is pretty harsh and the high is underwhelming. My girlfriend kinda liked it, that’d be the only reason I would buy more. 35/100(AA-)

Northern Lights

Nice looking buds, fairly pungent smell that’s hard to describe. Sort of sweet/earthy. Not an incredible version of Northern Lights, but definitely pretty enjoyable. 58/100(AA)

God’s Green Crack

This strain looks beautiful, with a great fruity aroma and flavor. I enjoyed the strong, indica feeling high, that seemed to last forever. This was a great smoke, I usually don’t care too much for GGC but I’d buy this one again in a heartbeat. 86/100 (AAAA) in my opinion.

UBC Chemo

This UBC Chemo has an odd sour smell, not really similar to other ’Chemo’ that I’ve smoked. Not my favorite smell, but not a bad one. Nice buds that probably could’ve been trimmed a little better, but still good looking. The high is stronger than expected and definitely adds a few points. The lab results are awesome too, very cool to know exactly what I’m smoking. 80/100(AAA)

Purple Amnesia

My least favorite of the purple strains I received. Not a bad strain, but nothing special. Subtle grape scent, decent flavor. Buds on the drier side, Medium strength indica leaning high. Not something I’d personally order, but a decent smoke regardless. 63/100 (AA+)

Double Black

I was expecting this to be a sweet smelling strain, similar to most ’Black’ strains. It’s oddly not. It has a musky sour aroma, that I personally don’t really like. The buds are pretty dry, and just don’t look very good overall. It smokes pretty smooth, and has a nice buzz, but overall I was definitely let down. 70/100 (AAA)

Black Licorice

This is what I expect when ordering a ’Black’ strain. Fantastic sweet gassy smell, with beautiful buds. The only reason I couldn’t call this AAAA is because of the slight dryness of the buds, and their small size. Otherwise this strain is fantastic. Very potent Indica high that’s great for night time use. 85/100(AAA+)

Purple Haze

I really enjoyed this strain. Pungent fruity grape smell, like most purps. Beautiful colors on the nugs, although they’re all bordering on popcorn sized and slightly dry, so it also can’t be called AAAA without better bag appeal and proper moisture content. Awesome energetic sativa dominant high. 85/100(AAA+)

Blue Dream CBD

I didn’t care for this strain. It smells great, and it looks nice, but as far as potency goes it’s really lacking. I’m sure it’s medical effects are probably killer since it’s a CBD strain, but I don’t smoke medicinally, and this doesn’t do it for me. I think it probably has some benefit for medical patients, so instead of giving it a 25/100, I’m kicking it up to 50/100 (AA) because I would feel bad judging something that harshly when it’s not really meant for someone like me.

Violator Kush

I don’t care for Violator Kush normally, and this was no different. Take this one with a grain of salt, since I don’t care for the strain in the first place, but the sour cheesy smell bothers me, and the buds on this one are pretty dry. Tickles the throat when smoking. I try to not be too harsh when I know that it’s a personal bias, but I’d rate this at like 68/100 (AAA) and honestly, the very strong high saves it from being much lower.

Mandarin OG CBD

This CBD strain seems to be much more potent than the Blue Dream. Great citrusy smell, with slightly dry and leafy buds on the smaller side. Bag appeal isn’t great, but the smell is very nice and the high is pretty strong. 79/100 (AAA)

Candyland

This strain is really interesting. I expected a much sweeter smell with a name like Candyland, It’s oddly reminiscent of a sour candy, a little sweet but also pretty tangy. The buds are beautiful, albeit they’re also quite small like most of these strains. The high is an awesome sativa feeling buzz that seems to provide a nice boost of energy. Nice smoke. 82/100(AAA)

Papaya

This stuff is awesome. I was very surprised by it. One large, beautiful nug that’s completely covered in crystal. Leaves residue all over the bag, kief covers the grinder. Awesome sweet fruity smell, a bit hard to describe. I’ve never tried actual Papaya, so I couldn’t tell you if that’s what it smells like or not. Taste is the same, maybe even sweeter to taste than to smell. Awesome high that seemingly is sativa leaning, but creeps up on you and has some nice indica qualities as well. I’d call this a true quad, not the best weed possible, but it’s damn good, with no problems that I can think of, and as such my rating is 93/100 (AAAA)

Tangerine Kush

Another strain similar to the Violator Kush that I don’t care for. It has a similarly strong high, a slightly more tolerable sour cheesy smell, and the buds are less dry and much nicer to smoke. I don’t think I’d order this myself, but if you’re into the sour smell you’ll probably love it. 75/100(AAA)

This is a new up and coming MOM that supplies a whole bunch of high end cannabis related products including Hashy Hands products, Cannagars, Cannarillos, and various top quality flowers.

Being reviewed today are Pie... Face, Strawberry Milk and SR71. Unique strains that I haven’t seen elsewhere.

Using a grading scale out of 10 seems to be an issue when grading strains of a similar quality. I’m going to start using a scale out of 100, to help show more difference within the same grades. Let me know if you like or dislike it. For reference I’ll be using 0-25(A) 26-65(AA) 66-85(AAA) 86-100(AAAA) going forward.

High end prices for high end products. Doesn’t seem to be anything for people on a budget.

Packaging:

Packaging is great, heat sealed black bags containing individually branded and labelled metal containers which hold the flower along with individual small boveda packs for each strain. Probably as close to a can as you can get without being a can.

SR71

I wasn’t quite as blown away by this strain as I was the others, but it definitely is great itself.

Very well manicured buds that barely have any leaf in sight. The flower is slightly dryer than ideal, but not enough to cause any big issues. Clean white ash, with a smooth exhale, burns very well in a joint.

The smell is not extremely pungent, but it is quite enjoyable with a very a strong gassy overtone, along with more subtle scents of musky earth and pine underneath.

The hybrid high on this strain feels like it leans a little more towards sativa than indica, while not being enough to overpower. Strong enough indica high to smoke before relaxing and watching a comedy with a friend, but not quite strong enough to put you to sleep, while being strong enough on the sativa side to wake and bake and get ready for your day. I’d say this strain is a lower end quad, grading in at 88/100(AAAA)

Edit: After further inspection of this strain, I found that it contained seeds. Definitely not something that should be in high priced craft cannabis. Everything else still stands, but it lowers the grade to 75/100(AAA) at best.

Strawberry Milk

This strain is also very well trimmed with few leaves in sight. Beautiful to look at with light green/orange color throughout the one nug that weighs in at 2.5g. The flower arrived with, in my opinion the perfect moisture level. Not dry enough to break apart in your fingers, but easily broken apart in a grinder without sticking to itself. The nose on this strain is wonderful. Pungent, sweet notes of a unique berry odor that are impossible to miss. It almost doesn’t smell like weed, kinda smells like something you’d put into a fancy smoothie. Definitely my favorite smell of the bunch. This strain also leaves behind clean white ash, with a smooth exhale and a wonderful berry flavor. I feel as the high on this strain is a great example of a true hybrid. Very strong effects on both sides of the spectrum, provides a bunch of energy, and any pain that I may have felt before using this strain is gone for hours after use. 94/100(AAAA) in my opinion.

Pie Face

Slightly less well trimmed than the other two strains, still trimmed quite well regardless. Few leaves to be seen, although they are there. This strain is sticky to the touch, leaving residue on your fingers after being handles for a short while. Very pungent smell that’s hard to describe. Kind of sweet, almost like a cake (or pie, I guess) mixed with flowers, and dipped in soil to leave earthy undertones. Unique, and enjoyable. SC knocked it out of the park with 3 strains that all burned down to a clean white ash, and none of which had me choking. The high on this strain gives the impression of being a hybrid that just slightly leans towards being sativa dominant, if not being 50/50. It’s the strain that I’m currently smoking while writing this review, and it definitely provides the creative head buzz that helps write long paragraphs about marijuana strains, while also keeping me securely locked to this chair. 92/100(AAAA)

Begin Full Spectrum Sour Diesel Honey

I’m not really sure what to say about this stuff. I don’t like the taste of honey at all, so that’s a bummer, but it’s definitely strong. Made the mistake of doubling the recommended dosage before bed and was awake for much longer than I cared to be with a strong thought provoking buzz that wouldn’t let me sleep.

Purple Lights

This strain isn’t as great as a lot of other strains from GanjaWest. Very small nugs, mostly pocorn or slightly larger .3-.5g nugs, with lots of unnecessary stems. Bag appeal is basically non existent. Pretty disappointing honestly.

With that said, the smell is absolutely wonderful, and very potent. Sweet berry aroma that fills the entire house when the bag is opened. A slightly harsh smoke, with grayish burning ash. Potent medium length indica high that will put you to sleep if you aren’t careful. I think this strain is AA+ as advertised, but I’d call it AAA with bigger nugs and better bag appeal. 6.5/10(AA+) as it is.

Purple Punch

This Purple Punch on the other hand, has very large, very nice looking nugs that are 2-4g each. My whole 14g was 5 nugs total. all of which are pictured. I wish this strain was trimmed better, because it’d be absolutely beautiful to look at and would be even more so with a better trim. The smell is a strong grape smell, reminiscent of a grape cola, extremely enjoyable. I had a friend smell it, and I’ve never heard him happier about the aroma of a marijuana strain.

Nice indica leaning high, similar to the Purple Lights, a little stronger, a little longer lasting. Just seems to be better quality all around. A little bit will have you locked to your couch, a lot will put you out for the night. 8/10(AAA) in my opinion.

Blueberry Afghani

This is the only strain GanjaWest currently has marked as AAAA (as far as I could see, anyways) and honestly, it doesn’t quite meet that mark for me.

With small/medium sized lightly colored, slightly leafy nugs that average .5-1g each the bag appeal isn’t quite up to par with what I’d consider a true quad.

On the other hand, the smell is absolutely remarkable. Extremely pungent, kind of sour, cheesy, berry smell. Very unique, and quite difficult to describe. The smell seems to linger forever after being smoked. Not a remarkably strong high, but an enjoyable one that seems to me to be sativa dominant. Energetic and thought provoking, great daytime smoke that I’ve used daily since I received it. 8.5/10(AAA+) for me.

OG Kush

This was my free 3.5 for using the BESTWEST coupon. (Forgot to use it on my first order, they added it to this one) I asked them to surprise me with the strain for my freebie, and boy did they deliver. very surprised by it’s quality and potency.

The buds themselves are all fairly small, and slightly leafy. Seems to be a recurring issue. But the smell is extremely gassy, even in such a small quantity it’s impossible to miss the second to bag is cracked open. The diesel taste that comes through during smoke is wonderfully strong. The high is where this strain knocked it out of the park for me and earned it’s rating. Incredible indica high that creeps up slowly, but knocked me on my ass once it did. I wasn’t expecting it to be nearly as strong as it was with the way it looked, but I am definitely glad I was wrong. 7.5/10(AAA)

Purple Trainwreck

Let’s start with the strain I’m sure people are curious about. I don’t think it’s quite the AAAA that it was advertised as on this forum, (I’m sure lots of people would disagree) but with that said it’s very enjoyable and not far off. Well trimmed bud with very few visual problems. Beautiful purple color all over the bud, so frosty it looks like it’s covered in snow. Definitely the best strain LF has available. Smokes pretty smooth, burns very clean. Strong relaxing high that I definitely wouldn’t recommend to people with a low tolerance unless they want to go to sleep. I’d say it’s a very enjoyable 8.5/10(AAA+)

Mango

This strain has a nice sweet flavor that’s surprisingly enjoyable. It makes me cough a little but, and the ash isn’t nearly as white as it could be. With that said, the buds are trimmed impeccably and the smoke tastes great. The high is an enjoyable buzz that keeps me focused and upbeat, with a medium length. 6.5/10(AA+) for me.

Watermelon

I think this strain is very similar to the Mango. The buds look quite similar, and have pretty similar effects. The Watermelon has a slightly more sour smell, which I enjoy less than the sweetness of the Mango. I’d honestly say these could be interchangeable without noticing any real difference in effect. 6.5/10(AA+) as well.

Pink Berry

Pretty small sample that it’s hard to get a smell from. Kind of a light fruity flavor maybe? Nice looking little nug that could’ve been trimmed much better. Slightly harsh, dark-ish ash and a bit of an odd smell after combustion. I don’t like this strain very much, the high seems to be pretty indica leaning and relaxing, but not very strong. 6/10(AA) for me.

Watermelon Skittles

Really enjoyable strain. Fantastic sweet citrusy smell, with a similar flavor that tastes great. The sample was very well trimmed, with beautiful colors running through it. Smooth smoke, clean burn. Nice energetic sativa leaning high that lasted much longer than most other strains on this list. I enjoyed this one. 8/10(AAA)

Goo Berry

Another one that’s a little hard to get a smell from. From what I can tell it’s a bit of an odd sour smell. Nicely trimmed sample bud that smokes pretty well. Not incredibly smooth, but not very harsh either. Fairly enjoyable relaxing high that didn’t seem to last very long. Quite similar in quality to a few of the other strains on this list 6.5/10(AA+)

OG

Pretty nice OG. Not the best I’ve ever smoked, but quite enjoyable nonetheless. Well trimmed buds, nice color. Fairly pungent gassy smell, with a nice clean burn and smooth smoke. No harshness on exhale. Very enjoyable, strong indica had that had me lazing around in bed for about a couple hours. Seems like it’d have some great bag appeal in a large quanitity. 7.5/10(AAA) in my opinion.

Cherry OG

Very different from the regular OG. Much sweeter smell, not trimmed quite as well and quite different in color. Slightly harsh smoke, ash is a little gray. The high seems to not be as pure indica as the site says it is, has some lingering sativa effects, not sure what happened there. Maybe it’s just me. Still pretty enjoyable, and the smell is absolutely fantastic. 7/10(AAA) for me.

Some decent pricing, the $99 oz’s seem t...o be absolute steals. The Black Cherry Soda was a miss for sure, but the Lemon Sour Diesel and Citrique are fantastic. Plan on grabbing some of the current $99 Nuken as well.

Communication:

KT has some of the best customer service I’ve seen so far. Always willing to help, they seem to really care about each individual customer, and put their happiness above anything else. (As far as I’ve seen anyways.)

Packaging:

Heat sealed generic grey ziploc in a CP mailer.

Black Cherry Soda

This strain looks absolutely gorgeous. The buds are large, extremely well trimmed and have nice color. With that said, this strain was honestly really poor quality. There’s almost no smell, even since it’s been in jars with and without boveda packs.The smoke was pretty harsh, and the high was very light and not long lasting. I find myself smoking multiple bowls back to back to get a nice buzz going.I don’t think it’s the worst zip I’ve ever bought for $100, but it definitely wasn’t what it was advertised to be, but there’s no way in hell it was washed like some people claimed, 3.5/10 (A+) in my opinion. This was the only bad thing I received from KT, and it was more than made up for by sending a replacement ounce of Citrique.

Citrique

Another $99 ounce, also beautiful looking. Mostly nice sized, very well trimmed buds that are sticky to the touch, with a beautiful light color. Incredibly strong citrus smell that you can smell from a mile away after it’s been smoked, with a taste to match. Strong sativa leaning high that keeps me focused and upbeat for a decent length of time. This is my go-to daytime smoke for the next day or two until I finish the ounce. 7.5/10(AAA) for me, which is crazy for a $99 ounce.

Lemon Sour Diesel (LSD)

Also was an oz being sold for $99, I just received a small sample with my original order. The bud was a little airy, and not quite as nicely trimmed as the others. Pretty smooth smoke, made me couch a little. Fruity flavors on the exhale, slightly gray ash. Nice citrus smell, not quite as strong as the Citrique but I’m also smelling a gram and not an ounce with this one. Another nice sativa feeling buzz with an energetic high that I don’t find was as strong as the Citrique. I’d say this was 6.5/10(AA+) I couldn’t call it AAA but it was still a great smoke for $99/oz.

Rockstar

Probably my favorite of the bunch. Only a gram sampler, but very nice quality. Great pungent gassy smell, nicely trimmed full gram sized nug. Clean smoke, burns white and is smooth on the throat. Strong floral taste on the exhale. Great relaxing indica high, pretty strong but not strong enough to knock you out. 7.5/10(AAA) very enjoyable Rockstar. I seem to have forgotten the microscope shot on this strain, which has already been smoked. I apologize to anybody who enjoys them.

As I said before, KT has some outstanding customer service. I didn’t intent on ordering more than once, as I just wanted to do a review, but they’ve definitely roped me in as a repeat customer. Going to check out some more of these $99 ounces in the future. Can’t wait to try the Nuken as I’ve heard amazing things about the last batch.

Both the bulk pric...ing and OZ pricing seems fair to me.

Communication:

Communication is fairly straight forward. Simple e-mail responses with quick response time.

Packaging:

Packaging was a disappointment. The HP of PK was vac sealed but nothing else was, and it was all just tossed into a CP mailer. Thank god it didn’t end up opening during travel.

Purple Kush

Very average PK. I love this strain, it’s one of my all time favorites. This version of it is nothing special, but it’s nothing to laugh at either.

Nice caked nugs with a fantastic, albeit slightly light berry smell reminiscent of old school PK. Nice smoke that isn’t too harsh, with slightly gray but mostly white burning ashes. Great medium strength lazy high. Doesn’t have me locked to the couch, but definitely doesn’t make me want to go hit the gym.

My rating would be 6.5/10(AA+)

Purple Urkle

I really enjoy Purple Urkle. It has such a nice unique gassy/berry aroma. I love the smell. This Purple Urkle was trimmed nicely, burned well and had a very smooth exhale. Enjoyable strong high that is a mixture of creativity and laziness. I’d rate it 7.5/10(AAA)

Lemon Thai Kush

Extremely pungent citrus smell. My girlfriend loves this stuff, very appealing, well trimmed buds with an extremely enjoyable smoke. I love the flavor that comes through on exhale. Strong energetic high that had me playing League of Legends until 3am. The high isn’t extremely strong, but the smoke is very, very enjoyable.

I’ll give it a 7/10 (AAA)

Death Bubba

My favorite of the batch. Very gassy smell. The nug I was sent wasn’t trimmed very well, but that’s the only complaint I have. Absolutely caked, with a great flavor, and a very strong lazy high. Couch lock for sure. I think it’s the most expensive of the bunch, which makes sense because it’s the stand out for sure. 8/10(AAA)

Sour Tangie

Strong sour smell. I don’t particularly care for the sour smell, but I’m sure someone out there loves it. The nug I was sent was well trimmed, burned clean and tasted pretty nice. Smooth on the throat.

Nice strong creative buzz. Quite enjoyable to smoke. I’d rate it 7/10 (AAA)

This time we have Platinum Girl Scout Cookies, MK Ultra and a whole bunch of budder! Won’t be going into much detail on the budder, just pics and quick comments. SG budder never disappoints me.

Platinum Girl Scout Cookies

This strain is absolutely fantastic. Extremely pungent sweet smell, with fantastic bag appeal, a nice clean burn, trimmed exceptionally well and tastes fantastic.

Strong indica high, definitely felt pretty lazy after smoking this one. Not extreme couch lock, but definitely didn’t leave me very productive.

Very enjoyable strain. 8.5/10 AAAA in my opinion.

Mk Ultra

Not the best strain out there, but it was a free 3.5 for hitting a certain purchase amount. Definitely not complaining.

Nice subtle nose, a little gassy. Smooth smoke with a nice flavor. Buds were trimmed well, bag appeal was decent.

The high is more potent than expected for a free AA. Medium strength buzz, definitely not as strong as the PGSC but nothing to scoff at either. Enjoyable mellow high.

Not the best strain, but 6/10 AA. Just like advertised.

Very similar to the gigabud in my opinion, slightly more fruity smell.

Night Train Budder

A bit darker than some others, but not quite as dark as UBC or Violator. Nice crumbly texture and great taste. Looks kinda like a jolly rancher.

UBC Chemo Budder

Best smell of the bunch, incredibly citrusy and unique but quite sticky and dark (the microscope light makes it seem a little brighter than it really is), hard to work with, even harder to smoke. Wouldn’t buy again.

Violator Budder

Similar to the UBC Chemo except it’s darker but easier to work with and doesn’t smell quite as good.

I g...enerally prefer to purchase bulk, so I don’t order from SpeedGreens very often, but I really enjoy their budder so I’ll probably keep coming back for it.

Communication is fine, there’s nothing about their customer service as far as I’ve seen that stands out or makes me feel like they’re different than other MOMs,

Packaging:

Super discreet packaging with no smell leakage. I always love the little containers with individual boveda packs.

Acapulco Gold

I really enjoyed this strain. I’ve never tried Acapulco Gold before this, but I’d like to try some more in the future.

Great sativa with a fantastic sweet smell. Well trimmed with a clean burn and a smooth exhale. Brightly colored buds with great bag appeal.

Strong energetic high, very effective day time smoke.

I’d rate this 8.5/10 (AAAA). Very enjoyable.

Platinum Blackberry

I also really enjoyed this strain. It’s obviously a very different smoke when compared to the Acapulco Gold, but in my opinion it’s easily just as good.

Beautiful nugs with some incredible colors running through them, a strong berry flavor and a similar, fantastic taste.

Strong indica high, I’m sure it’d put me right to bed if I had a lesser tolerance. I usually smoke a bowl or two of it at night, topped with some Death Bubba budder to help me sleep which definitely does the job. Night time use recommended.

I’d also rate this strain as 8.5/10 (AAAA). Both of these strains were great. If SG had wholesale pricing I’d probably buy their flower more often.

I also purchased 8 different grams of budder, and while I really enjoy it, I use budder as a bowl topper, or joint filler so it’s pretty hard to give you a review of their effectiveness individually, or to grade them. Aside from showing pictures and commenting on the smell and consistency, I can’t really do much reviewing. I will say that I enjoyed every one of them, and would order them each again. I’ve only tried budder from a couple different places, but SG is easily the best of them.

Rockstar

Very strong smell, light consistency that sticks to your fingers if touched barehanded.

Skywalker OG

Not as strong of a smell, lighter color, but more of a hash-like consistency and shape than the rest. Weird to break up, but easy to tell it’s very, very potent.

Duke Nukem

Probably the strongest smell of the bunch. Very citrusy. Color was also fairly light, but nowhere near as light as the Skywalker.

Girl Scout Cookies

Strong, extremely sweet smell. Harder than most of the other strains to break up, but it smoked well and the taste came through as a bowl topper pretty well.

Death Bubba

My favorite of the bunch. I used it every night to help me sleep while I had it. Nice consistency, slightly darker color and strong tasting.

Space Cookies

Similar to the Death Bubba, but not quite as good in my opinion.

Gorilla Glue

Most of these were honeycomb-like, but this was easily the most honeycomb-like of the 8.

Strong smell, nice consistency and light color.

Black Diamond

This one was really odd. Much darker than the rest, pretty sticky instead of the crumbly texture the rest of them share, and harsh on the throat when used as a topper. The taste comes through pretty heavily, but it’s not a taste that I really enjoyed. My least favorite of the bunch by a long shot, gave about half away to a friend. Wouldn’t buy again given the other choices.
