my friend made his 4/20 order of a few strains with HGA, given the excellent deals they had going, and was kind enough to offer me some Pink Sugar Cookies from his order. this was my first experience with the GSC x Sugar Cane cross, and my first time trying Enigma Extracts too. i was pleasantly surp...rised, from initially receiving and checking out the bud through the entire process of breaking it down to combust. to be clear, this review isn’t for the incentive, just because i was stoked about the quality, and for the love of the game
the nugs themselves are gorgeous. overall, there was a few grams of popcorn and some shake in the bag, but there was also a whole cola and a bunch of buds like those pictured above. when ground you get some of the most striking pink you’ll ever see. not the classic purple stuff, but really pink. it’s kinda funny, considering how many pinks they have had available recently. i myself was sitting scrolling through the indica options for so long. (in the end i went for an ounce of the super pink myself, but that’s for later).
definitely a real pleasant hybrid high, and one that rollers will appreciate as enjoyable in all the sensory ways. i’m talking tactile, olfactory, and definitely visually, all of that. perfect moisture and cure. real pleasant hybrid high, smooth smoke, goes good with a cold coffee drink mid afternoon if you’re into that. i found myself buzzed and smiling, a fuzzy, not incapacitating high. honestly might go back for more myself, been saving the last nug left for two days now.
Super Pink pictures
and as promised, for the ounce of Super Pink. this was not one of those (however infrequent) cases of a strain being marked up to AAAA- over there. a little leafy, sure, but those few dark leaves left definitely functioned to protect some very sticky, purple and dark green caked bud. a few thick, round big ones, majority mediums and a few smalls, hardly any shake. the quality was the same throughout, excellent. that seems to be an HGA niche: an indica marked quad A- or similar, with a slightly messy trim on otherwise high quality bud, for a killer deal because of it.
it took me a while to decide on a strain, because HGA had a bunch of pink crosses with classic heavy indicas listed. eventually i went with Super Pink, which came overnight from BC to the GTA with free Purolator shipping. with a $10 off newsletter coupon stacked with the 4/20 sale price (still on i think?), this is officially one of the best $100 ounces i’ve ever smoked.
(an aside: the multifaceted issue of a surplus of pinks on the market in canada is a topic for another discussion. renaming strains, even more so. but in this instance for me, and especially with HGA, reading descriptions and reviews you can often get real deals on hard hitting pink crosses. i can see the issues, but also, i’m one of the many, many consumers who primarily seeks potent indicas to smoke, and for that purpose i can see why pinks have been going around like hotcakes for the last few years, and how the idea to cross them with classic OGs, Grandaddy Purps, Death Bubbas and the like makes sense.)
perfect moisture for any purpose. burns a little hot in a bowl, no notes at all for the joint; white ash regardless. the nose is gassy with hints of vanilla. the taste is where that vanilla really shines, and some more sweetness comes out a lot more. the slight taste of OG is nice but it’s got more of the classic Pink in my opinion. hard hitting, sticky, definitely what i was looking for, and for a steal. shoutout to HGA as always, the consistency is appreciated.

another video and pictures (all the stuff fresh out of the box + a shot of the gushers sample that was included and its burn)
first, a disclaimer: fully ready to receive some instinctive downvotes, i’ve seen the anger that this MOM can spark around here. but i want to preface this sayin...g that i’ve been aware of their presence on the scene for a while, and had communicated randomly on instagram here and there. never went through but they never rubbed me wrong in conversation.
however, (you can check my post history a few weeks back to verify), i was one of the people scoffing at the cookies listed on their website recently as well. that day, i received a notification they replied to my comment, but it was instantly deleted/removed. i messaged them saying maybe they were shadowbanned, and they sent what they had replied to me there instead. from what i understand, they were misled by a trusted associate/broker, which combined with their unawareness of the OCS/legal market led to that mess. i hold no bad blood, and after seeing all the hype and posts about this particular strain, and having wanted to try Hierba for years now, i had to go for the ridiculous sale that Makaveli was having on it for my first purchase. they definitely hooked me up, as i’ll explain now. apologies for the length already, but i had to get that all out there.
got a free amber glass jar, something i’ve always wanted from their stock, courtesy of a newsletter coupon. very happy with it, looks like they’ll be using these jars to ship with their own labels for all flower in the future. he also tossed in a hierba slap, not to mention some gushers as a gift, something i wasn’t expecting and was totally stoked by. that gram was a little dry/muted, alone in the tiny sample bag it came in, but i’m putting that on canada post. would have been prime after a day jarred with a boveda, but i did not wait that long to smoke it lol. rolled and smoked real nice, i’d definitely check it out alone going ahead. first time trying poncho farms, and i’m not disappointed. a nice loud grape-leaning fruity noise, still sticky on the inside and was perfect in that joint before heading home. man i love my indicas (and indica leaners, for the pedants).
but even for a heavy stone lover like myself, these guava oreoz are a real treat. even more so if youre an exotic head. gorgeous, shiny, perfectly manicured and cured buds. the bags were real cute; smaller than i expected though, given my experience with gifted gardens and their 7g bags with plenty of room. however, whatever slight squishing the expert vacuum seal job gave the flower immediately bounced back once i opened the packs up. definitely not like that other user’s squashed pack from cannapanda. for your reference, the video on here and the video on imgur are separate bags, but they both came with near-identical contents: one large bud, a few mid sized classic nugs, and some smalls that themselves alone look way too pretty. sticky as a motherfucker, instant finger coating after a little busting up. and i can’t make this up, it really does lean towards guava in scent somehow, though it doesnt hit you outright when you open it. the dark greens contrast wonderfully with the glistening layers of trichomes on top.
decidedly not a knockout, but on a sunny day like we’ve been getting recently, this strain is like treating yourself to some real nice ice cream, the fancy stuff. a great feel-good high, maybe not super conducive for working through but definitely one for pleasant conversation or enjoying some music. smokes mostly white, fairly smooth to pull. as far as i understand it, the value makaveli provided can’t be beat here. and further, as the line between full-on dispensary business-like MOMs and the consultant/broker/independent-often-instagram MOMs grows blurrier, i encourage you to explore some of the options out there.

first of all: shoutout to Franklin and the team at Classics. any time i’ve ever had a question, dude’s always right back to me, and pretty easy to talk to. fun on instagram too, i enjoy the croissant content.
being used to and largely happy with ordering from BC and... out-of-province generally, i haven’t given too many chances to the many delivery options in the GTA. however, having the Classics selection local is hard to resist, and since the same-day drop-off option is the same price as xpresspost, i’ve gotten to enjoy the thrill of it arriving within hours a few times now, instead of the comparatively slow drip of canada post updates. the delivery service they use is excellent as well, guy goes out of his way to make things work, always keeps you updated.
they stock craft in abundance, but lately (who am i kidding, for a while now) i’ve been going through a lot of flower in small amounts of time. because of that, the Casualsz section (budget ounces and bulk, formerly known as Jellyfish) on the website has been hooking me up for a while now, and especially since they’re always doing various fun sales where they drop the price and/or shipping on top of the ounce prices already. previously, i’ve enjoyed the pink gas and the LA kush cake from this selection, but this time i had to grab the funky charms. a cross between rainbow chip and grease monkey, and what a cross! i’ve had excellent experiences with grease monkey so i was real excited to see how this strain presented.
it can be a real dilemma with buying stuff online, seeing stuff and thinking goddamn, but not wanting to buy the flashy looking shit that ends up smoking terrible. i say this to say, this stuff looked really nice on the website, and that definitely influenced my selection. i was not let down however. poured out the black vac-sealed bag it came in on my tray, and found some fluffy, caked nugs, manicured and perfectly squishy. solidly medium-sized buds throughout, a few smalls and bits that broke off, but very consistent bud structure. a few orange hairs and trichs left after i cleared it all off again. on first look, the lavender showing on the buds seems complimentary to the green, but when you bust it up the purple really shows out. definitely carries the bag appeal from the rainbow chip, but brings a good nose and stone over from the grease monkey.
honestly, this budget ounce project has continually provided what i’d hoped it would: quality flower, maybe not the most ridiculous looking pheno or the fattest, most resinous buds, but a great expression of a strain, grown with care to great results. the funky charms rolled up perfectly for a joint on my walk home, and smoked clean through and through. slight pepper, mostly white. subsequent bong bowls at home were milked, and hit me hard before bed. a nice proper stone behind the eyes, and a solid buzz through the body to go with it. helpful for my back issue that’s popped up recently.
i mentioned the nose was good earlier; it’s hard to put down but it definitely danks. a little peppery, and the taste sort of reminds me of grape strains i’ve tried in the past, as well as the pungent side of various cookies strains. not overly reeking, but comes together nicely, the funkiness is great for those who like to take big whiffs when you open up a jar or bag. i definitely recommend, they care about quality over there!
