The visuals on this batch of Garlic Breath are absolutely bonkers. The buds almost appear wet with how slick and greasy they are from an abundance of trichome heads that fill... every visible nook and cranny. A wicked combination of colours that has forest greens meeting dark purples, accompanied by several tangerine coloured pistils. Beautifully hand trimmed and exquisitely cured, leaving the outside slightly crisp with a stickier interior.
It's aromas and flavours are much more welcoming and pleasant than the name would imply and not as funky, at least on this cut with the GMO taking the back seat until ground up. Starts off as rich and creamy before releasing notes of savoury spices, pine, and garlic fuel. It translates flawlessly over to the smoke, bringing forth those same creamy, savoury, fuel flavours with garlic and herbal-pine nuances. Joints burn very greasy and slow, providing a white ash and smooth smoke throughout it's entirety.
The high on this one slaps as does everything I've ever tried with GMO in it. Straight to the dome it goes in a powerful, aggressive fashion, leaving me in a spacey, zoned out state. It's soon met with an all encompassing body stone that provides a heavy sense of relaxation that can easily lead to some sleepiness in larger amounts. Absolutely loved this one, coming in at a very close second behind the Platinum Dosi.
Up next from Chronic Farms is this lovely cut of Sundae Driver, a cross of FPOG & Grape Pie. Chunky, dense, light green buds that are further accented through hints of purple and vibrant cl...usters of winding orange hairs that dominate the surface. Very impressive trichome production as well especially within the buds. It's texture is smack between sticky and dry, making it easy to break up by hand but without crumbling to powder. I did spot a few seed pod/pockets but I didn't come across any actual seeds. Great trim and cure to boot.
The aromas on this Sundae Driver are a mix of sweet, creamy berries and fresh grapes with gentle hints of earth and herbs on the back end. The translation over to flavour is where this strain usually lets me down but It's not the case with this one. It's actually quite similar to the nose, providing a fruity-berry taste that starts out as sweet and shifts to a bitter, sour wine type of flavour. Incredibly smooth and clean burning, leaving behind a fluffy white ash.
A medium potency high with very balanced hybrid effects that offer a little bit of everything. I can smoke this flower all day long as it just puts me in a noticeably upbeat, centered mood. It's not super strong in any one category but it does an exceptional job of mixing relaxing qualities with mood lifting ones. I don't get particularly tired from it but the laziness factor is definitely present in the long run.
I just recently had this strain for the first time so it had me curious to see how different or similar they are from one another. Terrific bag appeal on these fluffy, caked out buds, reminding me a lot of... the first time I had Cactus Breath. Both in the bud structure and with the inclusion of it's lovely purple streaks. Softly textured and semi sticky, leaving the fingers with that 'sandy' type of feel opposed to clinging to one another.
Really love the nose on this Blackberry Breath which seems to be blackberry kush dominant over it's meatbreath counterpart, providing sweet blackberry aromas that are backed by notes of fresh pine and spicy herbs. It's very tasty in both a bong and joint where it carries over the same characteristics found in the nose. Sweet, rich blackberries followed by undertones of vanilla and pine. Really refreshing for a change of terps. It burns a little fast due to it's fluffy texture, producing a salt and pepper ash that's a little more on the peppery side and medium sized oil ring.
An indica dominant high as one would expect from this strains lineage but not a heavy or sedating one as it's more on the mellow, euphoric side. Calming and stress relieving, offering a tranquil yet uplifted high that lets you coast through the day. It has a bit of a potential to leave you burned out and tired afterwards but nothing super debilitating. Feels like a decent all around high to enjoy at anytime while lower tolerance peeps may want to save it for the evenings.
This Island Sweet Skunk arrived in medium sized, fluffy buds that sport a light and airy structure. Pale green in colour with a bit of a yellowish hue, followed by long, peach-pink hairs. Nothing to write home about in terms of looks but It's quite frosty a...nd greasy, making for a super sticky to the touch texture. It has quite a bit of extra leaf however and I had to pluck off a bunch before tossing it in the grinder.
Unlike the name implies, there is nothing sweet about this skunk as it's the pungent, cheesy type. It's almost offensive like a blue cheese but still oddly enticing (if you're a fan of cheese strains), followed by some woody undertones. I didn't find the taste to be cheesy as much as it is herbal and peppery, paired with hints of sweet skunk on exhale. It isn't harsh but it's definitely punchy with it's acrid, lung expanding smoke, burning with a hefty resin ring and salt and pepper coloured ash.
An instant cerebral high that hits right off the bat like skunk strains tend to do. It starts off as clear headed and even a little focused before it transitions into more of a spaced out stone. Not the type of buzz to just sit and do nothing as I felt the need to stay active and functional with it's energetic effects. Other than it's robust smoke it makes the perfect wake and bake when needing a potent sativa kick.
Beautiful appeal on this GGC with tightly trimmed, golf ball shaped nugs sporting streaks of purples and greens, all overshadowed by dark rust coloured pistils. Greasy and immensely frosty, displaying numerous amounts of intact trichome heads. Stic...ky as well, and dense to the point where you can hear a snap when prying the bud apart.
A lovely profile as this God's Green Crack offers all the redeeming qualities that a great cut should have. The aroma for starters is the epitome of GGC and pretty unique to this strain. Loud, rich terps of sweet herbs and spices complimented by overtones of sour pine and earth. Very much hash like at times especially when the smoke fills up the environment with it's incense like qualities. There is also something very similar to cloves used in ketchup that I've always found peculiar. Effortlessly translates over to taste, providing a thick smoke that is very smooth on exhale and the least bit harsh. The dominant flavour is the sweet, fresh pine, followed by herbal, spicy undertones that are finally complimented by a subtle fruity exhale. Leaves behind a hefty oil ring and light coloured ash.
The high is real potent and not to mention long lasting, beginning instantly behind the eyes in classic GGC fashion. Ive always been a fan of this strain's full bodied stone, and this cut surely lives up to that. Before you know it you're left in a relaxing, tranquil couch lock, but with still enough engagement to not be completely useless. Ideal for watching movies or gaming as It offers a floaty head high, allowing you to be fixated on the activity at hand without the distractions.
Tremendous visuals on display as this extremely photogenic cut of Platinum Dosi is bursting with character. Firm, spade shaped buds that display a healthy bright green c...olour, accented by lovely orange hairs and streaks of purple that nearly remain hidden underneath a dense jungle of long stalked trichomes. Great texture and cure as well, allowing the buds to easily break off the main stem while still keeping nice and sticky.
The terps on this Platinum Dosi are amongst some of my favourites ever, tied with The Quadfarmers cut of Dosidos, as it's just so wonderfully tasty and full of flavour. Starting with it's super rich and creamy aromas that are a combination of sweet dosi cookies and a sharp, kind of black pepper spiciness from the Platinum. Not only does it translate over to flavour, but it does so in an even more pronounced manner. Incredibly rich and full bodied with a sweet Dosidos creaminess that's paired with notes of peppery Platinum that linger on the pallet long after exhale, leaving you inclined to keep smacking your lips together. There's also a very specific taste that I could swear is reminiscent of the spice 'cardamom' which I found to be quite unique. Very smooth as well, burning with a resinous oil ring and light, salt n pepper ash, remaining flavorful from start to finish.
Completing the trifecta are it's potent effects, going straight to the head in a stoney, spaced out fashion like I tend to notice from many Platinum crosses. Not really the best for multitasking as it's easy to lose focus with it's zoned out demeanour. It's indica traits begin to come into play eventually, bringing on a heavy body buzz and melting couch lock, proving it to be a great strain to wind down with at the end of the day.
I've never had the chance to try this particular Huckleberry cross, only having Huckleberry and Platinum Huckleberry Cookies prior. An 80/20 indica blend created through the pairing of Black Cherry Soda x Huckleberry Hound. The first thing you ...notice are the deep, dark hues of the buds, with tones of midnight purple highlighted by thick, bright, peach coloured pistils. Really makes for an excellent contrast. Decently cured and well trimmed, putting emphasis on it's greasy trichome coverage. Moderately dense with a neutral texture that isn't dry but not sticky either.
The nose is a little light but still very pleasant and unique. Delicate notes of sweet herbs and fresh earth, almost like soil, accented by mild undertones of tarty berries. Definitely shares common characteristics to other huckleberry cuts I've had. Like the aroma, the taste is also a little subtle, offering flavours of earth and berries but with an added touch of woodiness. Smooth and clean burning, though doesn't produce the greasiest of oil rings.
An indica leaning high that offers a very mellow, easy going buzz that is upbeat, mood lifting, and clear headed, allowing you to remain functional for a short time. It's soon complimented by the most slightest of couch locks, encouraging you to freely relax with no stress or anxiety. There is however a slight burn out once the effects begin to wear off, providing very little motivation to do anything strenuous afterwards.
This Pink Octane just may be my favourite out of the bunch with it's very modest tag and quality that punches well above it's weight. The nugs are super sticky and greasy, forming to one big patty after grinding and rolling itself in a join...t. A forest green appearance that's complimented by hints of light green and purple, further topped with a dusting of resinous trichome heads and a sprinkling of thin orange pistils. Very dense and compact with a great trim and cure to follow.
The name says it all. Loud, amplified aromas of High Octane gas that sharply pierce the nostrils, accented by those classic floral pink kush notes. Also a touch of earth and vanilla in the mix. Identical when smoked, providing mouthwatering flavours of pink kush with a heavy dosage of chest punching gas. Hints of earth and pine on exhale as well. The burn is just perfect, producing a clean white ash and very resinous oil ring from start to finish. Really slow burning too.
Powerful indica effects as one could expect from the lineage, starting with a very hazy and spaced out head high that is euphoric and mentally soothing. You feel your eyes drop and everything begin to slow down as it's sedating, body buzzing effects kick in, bringing on a limb to limb relaxation that leads to a potent, yawn inducing couch lock. Overall a really nice pink that smokes better than many higher rated pinks.
Next up from The Canna Society is another strain I've never heard of let alone tried. A tropical cross of Blue Dream and Maui Wowie, birthing these plump, semi dense buds that display some lovely visuals. Shades of light green and purple that a...re completely smothered in an impressive layer of milky white trichomes. All complimented by it's wild arrangement of orange hairs and neat trim. Perfectly cured too with the ideal amount of stickiness and moisture.
The nose on this Polaris Blue is the exact opposite of muted as it explodes with sweet, tropical berry aromas that are more along the lines of candy than actual berries. It thankfully translates over to taste as so many Blue strains don't, providing sweet blueberry flavours that are accented by subtle hints of pepper on exhale. Joints burn slow and resinous, followed by a mostly light ash with minor peppering.
Listed as a 55/45 sativa dominant but we might as well call it an even hybrid as I found the effects to be extremely balanced with it's even blend of mental and physical traits. Upbeat and mood enhancing in nature, temporarily ridding away any stress and negativity. Perfect for a mid day pick-me-up with just enough of a relaxing side to feel completely calm and tranquil without any obvious sedation.
