Last up from Bud Patrols, Rockstar. A strain I first had about 15 years ago and still seems to be going strong. The buds are dense, greasy, and sticky throughout, sporting a dark olive green profile with hints of purple, followed by several shor...t orange pistils and a layer of amber trichomes. A little on the leafy side.
Pretty much your average smelling/tasting Rockstar, bringing together notes of sweet pine, earth, and skunk. Not the most pungent of profiles but still offers a dankness on exhale with added hints of spicy kush and hashish, leaving behind a very rich, lingering aroma. Not harsh but a little sharp, producing a thick, heavy smoke and salt n' pepper ash.
Definitely does the job for a Rockstar, the type of indica that offers all the stress and tension relieving qualities without the heavy sedation. Mood lifting and functional as well, allowing to be active while still feeling calm and relaxed.
Up next is this Island Pink Kush from OWO. I didn't find it to be as good as the Stinky Pinky overall as it set a very high standard but it definitely still has all the pink characteristics that I love. Buds are sticky and semi dense, displayin...g a forest green appearance and heaps of thin, wispy orange pistils. Very frosty as well with many visible juicy trichomes. A little leafy in areas but nothing major. (Came with an integra boost)
The profile on this kush checks all the boxes on a pink in nose and taste. Sweet gassy-floral goodness with underlying aromas/flavours of vanilla and pine. Also a slight touch of skunk in the mix too that is more so noticed when combusted rather than in the smell. Only thing it loses points for is the burn that happened to be rather dark with a little heaviness to the smoke. Not overly harsh or anything but just not as clean burning as the Stinky Pinky.
A heavily euphoric and relaxing buzz with a solid mix of heady and body effects. Familiar and welcoming, like your favourite comfort food. That's pretty much how I consider a pink high as it just feels like the ideal indica for me in multiple ways. Decently long lasting and potent as well, just wish the burn matched it's other qualities.
Definitely a first for me as who wouldn't remember trying a strain called Stinky Pinky? Not really a clear cut answer to the lineage of this one but multiple sites mention that it exists from inbreeding Stinky Pinky F4 IBL. Greasy and sticky ick...y with a fresh, healthy green appearance and purple streaks within. Dipped in a sugary blanket of trichomes and long, wispy orange pistils. Minimally handled and well trimmed, followed by a lovely cure and semi dense texture. Also worth mentioning that it arrived with a 62% rH Integra Boost humidity pack.
The profile is very much that of a Pink Kush but also slightly reminds me of various tuna crosses in ways. Gassy fuel paired with those iconic perfumey, floral PK nuances, all accented by a subtle vanilla like sweetness and dank earth. Identical when smoked, providing those same gassy, floral, and earthy flavours but the smoothness and cleanliness of the smoke is the part I found most impressive. Very easy on the lungs with no heaviness at all, allowing for larger than normal indica bowls where I usually go smaller. Joints burned even and slow, producing a thick resin ring and a salt and pepper ash.
Packs a potent indica punch with full bodied effects that definitely seem best suited for a lazy day in. Relaxing and stress relieving, making it a pretty effective couch locker of a high. I could also see it being a decent sleep aid if you're already tired but it's not necessarily an instant KO more than it is a slow, soothing build up. Next up is the Island Pink Kush.
A strain that has always been amazing every time I've had it so here's to a flawless record as this Mike Tyson is another one to add to the list. Heavy, dense, beautifully manicured nugs that just ooze resin and sport a thick coat of THC fil...led trichomes. Seriously, this stuff is hella greasy and definitely benefits from the use of a grinder. Mainly dark green with lighter green accents and added hints of purple, followed by a plethora of thin, winding orange pistils. It came included with an integra in the mylar which I decided to keep for an accurate review and it seems like it has a perfect texture and cure after a week in my stash.
This stuff just reeks once you open the jar, releasing pungent aromas of dank earth and nose stinging diesel fuel. It violates the senses like when opening the cap off a permanent marker a little to close to your face. Cracking it open introduces notes of kush and skunk, further adding to it's stank. The flavours are weird but in a good way as the skunk really comes into play and clashes with the diesel fuel to create this bitter, earthy, chemical like funkiness. Almost like a tar or asphalt kind of thing going on. All followed by spicy and sweet kush nuances on exhale. Joints burn super greasy and slow, leaving behind a very light coloured ash with minor peppering. Far from harsh but the sheer density of the smoke can make for a lung punching hit.
The high on this Tyson absolutely smacks. I've tried it a few times now but only had a bowl here or there and never really got to indulge. Rolled a fatty after dinner, probably around a gram, and had to stuff it out around half way as it already had me flying. Right to the dome, feeling a fuzziness that puts a slight pressure on the skull and leaves you spacey and zoned out. I haven't used this description in a while but it's the type of high where you just feel like a head while the rest of your body kind of numbly sits there. Very floaty and euphoric but also heavily couch locking with the potential to be effectively sedating too. Really loved this one overall.
Always appreciate the chance to see what BigBoss is cooking up through these reviews, all made possible by the homie @rosebud_7738.
Pink Azul is the strain this time around and she...9;s an incredibly sticky, greasy, gooey one. Good luck trying to break it up by hand as it'll just end up clumping up into little balls. Even gave my brilliant cut a run for it's money as it has that gummy type of texture. It appears fluffy on first glance due it's outstretched hairs and jagged edges but is actually quite dense. Mainly of a forest green appearance but there's also lighter greens and dark traces of purple throughout, followed by a resinous, glue like layer of trichomes and wild, red-orange pistils. Cured to the 9's.
Now you can definitely recognize many pink qualities in the nose and taste but there are also other characteristics to it. Not sure on the lineage but it reminds me of a pink x death bubba cross or something along those lines. Pungent and gassy, producing aromas and flavours of dank earth and sweet vanilla with woodsy, musky, perfumey undertones. This is definitely joint weed due to it's very sticky nature as it takes a while to roast a bowl and you lose a lot of the flavour in the process. Joints produce a thick but smooth smoke, leaving behind a large oil ring and salt and pepper ash while burning quite slow. It's actually one of those ashes that seem to burn a little darker on the outside with a whiter center to be more specific.
Listed as a sativa dominant but I'd have to disagree with that as you can just tell this strain screams indica based on it's terpene profile alone. And then comes the high which is further proof. It didn't make me tired or sleepy, not many strains do these days, but it left me with a powerful head and body stone that seemed to last quite a long time, providing a stress free, euphoria driven high. Heavily relaxing but in a calming, tranquil sense as it just made me want to kick back and take er' easy all day.
Absolutely love me some Wedding Crasher as the pairing of Wedding Cake and Purple Punch is a match made in heaven for me. These very frosty, perfectly manicur...ed, medium sized nugs of arrived sporting a dense, crisp exterior with a slightly stickier texture within. A beautiful colour arrangement on display as shades of mint and forest green meet streaks of purple and clusters of thick orange hairs, drastically standing out in comparison.
The nose on this Wedding Crasher is exactly how I've experienced it in the past. Sugary dough with hints of creamy vanilla and a fruity Purple Punch twist on the back end. It gets even better when smoked, providing a cake inspired, creamy-fruity funk that's accompanied by grape purple puch nuances. Also a little herbal. Nice and greasy burning with a salt and pepper ash. Could be a little smoother but it's improved with prolonged jar time.
Definitely a sativa dominant strain that I could get used to starting off every morning with. Hits every checkmark for me as someone who loves an extra punchy kick to their sativas and is a nice break from all the lemon, citrus, diesel types. Energetic, mood enhancing, and euphoric, producing a peppy, talkative buzz while also leaving you with a head high that smacks.
I always welcome the classics and this Purple Kush from Top Tier Cannabis has been an all around decent smoke for a AAA. Round, medium to large buds that are trimmed to perfection with a firm, dense structure and a super sticky, gooey texture (stor...ed with the included Integra Boost). Mainly dark green in colour but there are also other shades of green in the mix, followed by hints of purple and topped off by a coating of greasy trichomes.
The first scents that hit the nose when going in for a smell are those of sweet, herbal kush. Grinding it up releases pungent aromas of nutty earth and fresh soil, followed by a touch of gas. There is also this kind of peppered meat thing going on that I found unique. It's quite different than many PK's I've had that's for certain. Similar when smoked with a combination of sweet kush and earth, paired with lingering notes of spices and herbs on exhale. Produces a smooth smoke in a joint, burning with a bit of a darker grey ash but probably from all the moisture in the buds, combined with a quick building oil ring.
The effects are what you would expect from a Purple Kush. I've never found it to be the most potent of indicas on the block but it definitely does a stellar job at providing an all around euphoric, relaxing high with mildly sedating, body buzzing qualities. Super mellow and easy going as well, paired with a dreamy, spacey head stone to compliment it's physical nature.
My third time trying this potent Grease Monkey X Triple OG cross. This Donkey Butter from Cannagrassroots arrived in a small mason jar that kept that buds perfectly intact and fresh. Curious to see ...if this would be on option on all orders or only part of this welcome pack as I definitely dig it. Great looking medium density nugs that feel sticky and very well cured. A colour profile that has several shades of green meeting dark purple sugar leaf, complimented by a forest of long stalked crystals and an abundance of bright orange hairs.
The profile on this Donkey Butter is quite the complex one as there is a ton going on, hitting your nose all at once. It starts out with aromas of musky pine and dank earth, followed by undertones of spice and diesel that intensity after grinding, becoming a little sour too. I almost get MeatBreath vibes at time as the spiciness reminds of a curry or a similar spice. The flavours are alike but heavily dominated by the earthy side as it tastes like fresh soil and I mean that in the best of ways, accented by spices and hints of flowers and pine. The burn is perfect, producing a clean white ash from spark to roach along with a sizeable oil ring.
A creeper indica that takes it's time to fully unfold, coming on slow but steady over it's lengthy stone, starting with an all encompassing head high that leaves you focused and engaged into whatever has your interest at the moment. It eventually makes the switch over to a heavily subdued and relaxed body stone, feeling the need to just kick back and enjoy the ride. It definitely has the capability to bring on a tired, lazy funk much later in the high, making this one an appropriate choice for late afternoons and evenings.
This is a fantastic cut of Tropicana Cookies from Chronic Farms and up there with some of the best I've had. Starting with it's absolutely gorgeous appearance that showcase...s a vibrant combination of deep purples and forest greens, further highlighted by a heavy dusting of greasy trichomes and glowing orange pistils. This particular Tropicana Cookies sports a tighter, denser structure than I'm used to with this strain as it's usually on the fluffy, airy side. Also some subtle fox tailing going on, giving the buds a lot of their character. Sticky to the touch and cured to a tee, followed by a very neat trim.
A very pronounced and refreshing nose, wreaking of creamy citrus and orange peels, giving it a mix of bitter and sweet. Also an earthy-floral dankness once ground up. It's flavours are just as impressive and translate perfectly, providing a creamy citrus taste that is similar to fresh tangerines or freshly squeezed juice with a slight peel bitterness. It's so silky smooth for how thick the smoke is, burning with a greasy o ring and light grey ash, staying flavourful from start to finish.
Even though it isn't a full on sativa it certainly feels like it throughout the majority of It's high. It doesn't take long to kick in, feeling a burst of upbeat energy that can easily help turn a lousy mood upside down. It's not racy but it definitely encourages functionality over everything else but with enough of a mellow side to not feel anxious but more so 'in the zone'. Perfect for a daytime smoke in every way and one my personal favourite cookie crosses.
