I grabbed a quarter of this and it arrived as dense, sticky small and medium sized nugs. The buds are a beautiful mix of greens and decked with trichomes. The nose on this is a little floral, a little pine, and a little funk.
The taste is very much the same with nice strong terps that coa...t the mouth in flavour. I've got some tasty weed in the stash right now but I think the flavour of this strain is especially enjoyable and find myself gravitating toward this one regularly.
The smoke itself is quite smooth, burning well with salt and pepper ash and a small oil ring. This OGKB has good oomph to it, I can feel it behind the eyes before I'm done the joint. Not a morning smoke for sure but I like this in the afternoon and evening. Very relaxing and chill high.
Overall, quite pleased with this one and for the quality, I think the value was fair at $55/q. This is a strain I'd absolutely buy again. Great flavour, great smoke, great potency. No real complaints here.
I'm glad I've had the chance to try this one, I am super pleased with my purchase. 100% worth the price tag of $135/half oz (I did use some banked points also).
Incredible bag appeal, the pictures speak for themselves. My half ounce was maybe 5 buds. Strong scent of gas, cream, an...d paint. Never thought I'd enjoy that one but I keep sticking my nose in the jar. Sticky stuff, rolls itself really, with a smooth, very flavourful smoke that's very gassy and creamy like the nose is. Burns slow and white.
Quite potent! This stuff has been my nightcap and it still cuts through whatever else I've been smoking that day. Really like the high.
This ounce arrived less dry than the Animal Face, a bit sticky with a nice squish to it. The buds are a range of sizes from small to large, and are fairly dense. Busting them up did require a bit of elbow grease. Good bag appeal with lighter greens, pu...rples, and lots of trichomes.
This rolls up well and smokes smooths with a salt and pepper ash, oil ring present. The smell and taste of this are strong on the cherry with a lot of florals too. The flavour lingers nicely.
With low THC and high CBD, this is definitely not the strain for getting totally ripped on. It’s buzz is mild but definitely present and quite relaxing/clear headed. I like this most early in the day, particularly paired up with a couple cups of coffee.
At $140/ounce, I’m very happy with this and would buy it again.
This is my first order with TCF but for sure it won’t be my last.
Overall, I am quite satisfied with this Animal Face. For starters, nearly the whole ounce was made up of large 2.5-3.5 gram nugs. I would have been happy ...to have even 1-2 of these in there so this is a total treat for the eyes. The buds themselves are a beautiful mix of purple and pale green with great trichome coverage.
The bud arrived a bit dry, which I was not surprised by due to the numerous delays on Canada Post’s end (delayed in Calgary, delayed in Vancouver). TCF shipped within 24 hours, zero complaints there. It was just pure shit luck that kept my order from me for 5 days more than necessary. After giving it some time in a jar, it’s much better.
This Animal Face smells sweetly floral with a bit of lemon to it and it tastes much the same. I’ve had stronger terps but I wouldn’t call it muted by any means. It burns pretty smooth, not harsh at all, with salt and pepper ash. Good energetic high with decent potency, I can feel the pressure behind my eyes before the joint is finished and it sticks around for a bit.
Priced at $150/ounce, this is great value and great weed, period. I picked up an ounce of Trophy Wife too and like that just as much as this one, if not more. The quality to price ratio here is stupid good.
I grabbed this at the same time I picked up the Lemon Cherry Gelato I recently reviewed. Of the two, this Animal Sorbet has much nicer bad appeal with some chunky buds that are nicely caked.
The Sunset Sherb really comes through ...in the nose, which is sweet and doughy with a hint of gas. Like the LCG, the flavour here is very strong and tastes of sweet cookies, like eating only the frosting part of an oreo. It's not mind blowing but it is quite nice.
Burns and smokes slow and evenly. The ash is salt and pepper, leaning toward salt. I don't find it harsh. Good potency, though not crazy. It's a good evening strain but not a knockout.
Overall I like it but with places like TCF and OnlyGas offering significantly better pricing now, it's hard to feel like this is good value at approximately $130 a half.
Lemon Cherry Gelato (Sunset Sherbert x Girl Scout Cookies x unknown)
TL;DR: Lemon Cherry Gelato is an excellent strain with a superb flavour and smell that is true to its name. This burns very well and has a pleasant, potent high. I'm a bit bummed about paying so much f...or smalls but my overall enjoyment is great enough to overlook that as it's a winner otherwise.
Too long; still read: This Lemon Cherry Gelato from Coastal Wildfire was listed as being by CE Home Office. I've never had CE flower before and have been digging Gelato flavours lately so I decided to order a half ounce of this intriguing strain. I received this can yesterday along with a half of the Animal Sherbert (which I'll review later).
My first impression after opening the can was honestly disappointment because my entire can was small nugs. I've bought half ounces of smalls from Stashbox for $80 that were comparable. Considering I paid $130 and there was no mention of smalls, I was a bit let down. The nugs are largely all the size of fat cherries, a pretty mix of dark green and purple and some prominent pistils. The buds are fairly well covered in trichomes. Slightly dry to the touch with a good squish and good moisture level when busted up.
After getting past my initial reaction and rolling up a doob, I was pleased to find out that all other aspects of this bud are top-shelf. The smell and taste are both quite strong and are exactly what you'd expect from a strain named Lemon Cherry Gelato. The smell has a lemony, sweet dough quality to it mixed with a subtle cherry. The flavour...the flavour is huge. As soon as I tasted this, I stopped caring about anything else. The taste is similar to the smell with a tasty blend of cherry, lemon, and sweet gelato. It honestly reminds me of eating a rocket pop (popsicle).
I'm a big fan of the high with this strain. The hybrid effects are, to me, an ideal mix of being quite relaxing and also noticeably uplifting. This one burns nice and slow with nearly-white ash and a good oil ring. I could feel the high settling in behind my eyes by the time I was 2/3 of the way through the joint I smoked this morning. There is zero anxiety here, only good vibes and a fairly potent high that's still hanging around 2.5 hours later. This comes across to me as suitable for smoking at any time of the day.
Overall, I don't feel that this was good value for the money but there's little doubt that this bud is of high quality. With flavour for days and a pleasant stoning to go with it, Lemon Cherry Gelato is a worthwhile strain, just maybe at a better price or with nicer nugs.
TL;DR: this is quality bud. Unique flavour and smell, great visual appeal, great smoke with a smooth, clean burn. Potency was not as strong as I was expecting but I wouldn't say it was lacking by any means. Glad I tried it, and probably would... cop this again.
Too long; still read: I tacked on a mixed half oz with my order of Beach Wedding, grabbing 7g each of Cold Snap and Khalifa Mints. I've seen a lot of hype about this one and was curious to know if it was true. Having smoked a few grams now, I'd say this is pretty good stuff and a worthwhile purchase.
I don't have much to say that's not already said. Strong bag appeal with caked, fairly dense medium buds. Busts up and rolls well, not crazy sticky but not dry by any stretch. Fairly even burn, clean and smooth. It looks and smokes like quality flower.
Interesting flavour on this one, a very tangy, funky, minty kush. It's not quite like anything I've had before. The flavour is all the way through the joint and lingers in the mouth afterwards. The nose is similar to the taste with a more pronounced menthol scent.
Good hybrid high that I find suitable in the afternoon or the evening. It's pretty chill without being a knockout. I didn't find it overly potent personally, but it still gets me fairly baked.
Of the three strains I picked up, this was actually my least favourite, but that's not saying it isn't good because it is. I'm not as nuts about this as some people are about it I'm glad I tried it and would purchase again in the future.
TL;DR: excellent uplifting high, super sticky, great visual appeal, and mouth-smacking flavour. Incredibly slow, even burn. Definitely on the pricey side at $275/oz. I bought this as a treat to celebrate something and was not... disappointed but I won't be making a habit of it.
Too long; still read: Based solely on its parents, I knew Beach Wedding was likely to be a great tasting strain and that was certainly true. I'd seen a couple posts about this one and eventually gave in to my curiosity and ordered an ounce as a special treat.
My ounce came packed in four 7g bags, which I thought was a bit excessive. Each bag came with an Integra. While transferring it into a jar, it was immediately apparent that this was one sticky mofo. Check the picture of the jar upside down lol. Lots of visual appeal here, mostly dark purple with green and orange accents. The buds are blanketed in beautiful trichomes that really caught the light.
The nose is sweet and citrus-like with an undertone of fresh florals. Busted up, the smell gets even juicier with an added funk. And busting it really highlights how sticky the bud is, the act of grinding required a bit more elbow grease to get going, even in my Brilliant Cut.
I've smoked a few joints of this now and I am extremely impressed with the burn. This absolutely smolders from start to finish, leading to a long, fulfilling smoke. It's smooth with white ash. The high can be felt behind the eyes before the joint is done. I found it good as an afternoon smoke, with an uplifting head high and relaxing without being sleepy.
And of course, it tastes awesome. Beach Wedding has prominent notes from both sides: juicy citrus flavours intermingled with sweet vanilla cake. Mmm. The flavour was basically what I expected and is highly enjoyable.
Overall, this is truly excellent stuff. It's not great value at $275/oz but I feel that I got what I paid for.
My last review was a bit long-winded so I'll (try to) keep this short and sweet.
I've been excited to try this strain for a while now and it mostly lived up to my expectations. I only grabbed a quarter of this because I wasn't sure if I'd dig the flavour. It came as one be...autiful 3g nug and a mix of medium and small for the rest. No seeds have been found and I've smoked about 3/4 of my buy.
The buds are sticky and caked, though not quite as much as the Gelato Punch I got at the same time. The flower smells sweet and fruity, with a doughy undertone. I don't know that I'd say it smells like nanners but it's pleasant. Busted up, the smell intensifies.
As a smoke, it's very smooth and burns beautifully. In general I found the flavour to be fairly close to the smell: sweet, almost candy-like, with some fruitiness and a hint of mint. It didn't blow me away but I do still enjoy it.
The high is probably my favourite part. I found this strain to be quite uplifting and it puts me in a great mood and headspace. This is an excellent morning smoke with moderate potency and no burnout.
Overall, glad I tried this one and will definitely be on the lookout for more banana strains in the future. This wasn't quite as impressive as I'd hoped but that may have been a combo of unrealistic expectations and the high bar set by the Gelato Punch, which I am still super digging.
